PURPOSE: To determine tumor response, patterns of relapse, and prognostic indicators in patients followed long-term after combined hormonal radiation therapy of adenocarcinoma of the prostate in men with tumor metastatic to pelvic lymph nodes.
METHODS AND MATERIALS: Seventy-nine patients with adenocarcinoma of the prostate with pathologically confirmed pelvic lymph node metastases were treated with combined radiation therapy and hormonal therapy. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of local-delivery of 25% metronidazol gel and mechanical cleaning using ultrasonic carbon fiber tip on dental implants with peri-implantitis.
METHODS: 27 implants with peri-implantitis were randomly assigned to receiving either 25% metronidazol gel treatment or carbon fiber tip ultrasonic scaling. All parameters including plaque index (PLI), probing depth (PD) of pocket, sulcular bleeding index (SBI), and BANA enzyme analysis were measured at baseline, 1, 2, 6 and 12 weeks after treatment.

This paper presents the detailed analysis of the character of remodelling of 84 dysplastic hips in 70 patients with congenital hip dislocation treated conservatively. It was found, that the remodelling can be done basing on 3 models. Observing the character of the remodelling of the particular joint and encountering it to appropriate model, it is possible to predict the status of the joint when the growth is finished. Six patients with breast cancer in the upper inner quadrant underwent endoscopy-assisted partial mastectomy. BACKGROUND/AIM: The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) for primary biliary cirrhosis in a randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled trial.
METHODS: Consecutive patients (n=192) were randomized to receive 14-16 mg UDCA/kg/day or placebo. Patients underwent a complete history, physical examination, liver chemistries, immunological determinations and liver biopsy at entry and at the end of the trial, which lasted for at least 2 years.
