The Danish sperm donor number 7042 has fathered several offspring with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) worldwide. NF1 is caused by loss-of-function mutations in the NF1 gene and more than 1000 NF1 mutations are identified. Analysis of the donor sperm demonstrated gonosomal mosaicism with an intragenic deletion involving exons 15-29 in the NF1 gene. At the two Danish reference centres for NF1 patients, we evaluated 23 half-siblings from the donor. Nine were diagnosed with NF1. We report a very rare case of a heart transplanted man with angiographic documentation of multiple congenital fistulae arising from both coronary arteries and draining into main pulmonary artery. A transthoracic echocardiogram and right heart catheterization were also performed, to assess the functional importance of the shunt. We also carried out a brief review about this rare condition and we reported considerations about its prognosis and treatment.

A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to evaluate whether women who conceive with donor sperm have an increased risk of preeclampsia compared with those who use their partner's sperm. INTRODUCTION: Kidney transplantation is efficacious as a renal replacement, particularly pre-emptive living donation. In Poland, the rate of transplantation of living donor kidneys is only 3%. The aim of the study was to identify the most common reasons to disqualify a potential living kidney donor.
METHODS: We evaluated 124 kidney donor candidates for 111 potential recipients at 1 medical center for genders and ages of donor and recipient; thus relation, donor disqualification reasons, number of potential donors for a particular recipient, prior transplantations, and kidney vasculature.

Whether ischemic preconditioning (IP) reduces ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in human normal and fatty livers remains controversial. We compared two independent groups of liver donor transplants with versus without steatosis to evaluate IP consequences. We report on the initial development and validation of the Living Donation Expectancies Questionnaire (LDEQ), designed to measure the expectations of living kidney donor candidates. Potential living donors (n=443) at two transplant centers were administered the LDEQ and other questionnaires, and their medical records were reviewed.
