At present, the gastric lavage tube used in clinical practice only has a few liquid orifices at the distal end of the lumen, and its structure has defects such as residual liquid reflux and aspiration in clinical practice. This article aims to solve the shortcomings of the existing technology and design a gastric lavage tube with built-in airbag with reasonable structure and high safety, in order to optimize the design and apply it to the actual clinical work, and further reduce the complications caused by the gastric lavage tube.

The wide use of automobile airbags has undoubtedly reduced the mortality and the incidence of serious injuries from motor vehicle accidents. However, automobile airbags appear to be associated with a variety of injuries including fatal injuries, ocular injuries, upper limb and chest injuries. Further improvements in airbag design together with education of the general public in their use should help reduce airbag-related injuries.

We report two cases of venous air embolism which occurred in association with infusion of Haemaccel(R) using a pressure bag. As a result of these incidents, we performed a study that showed that up to 45 ml of air can be infused into a patient from a pressurised Haemaccel(R) plastic bottle using a standard administration set. We also demonstrated that the volume of air infused was influenced by the type and size of the pressure bag and the warming of the Haemaccel(R) plastic container.

BACKGROUND: Injuries by airbags are seen more frequently as more vehicles are equipped.
CASE REPORTS: 7 cases of burns by airbags are reported. Most of burns are second degree lesions located on upper extremity and trunk.
DISCUSSION: Lots of components are implicated in airbag deployment. So, three types of burn are described: thermal, chemical and friction. The treatment is simple. But, omission could be potentially dangerous, especially alkali chemical keratitis.

This study aimed to evaluate the shelf life of intermediate moisture longan (IML). A hurdle technology approach was applied, combining osmotic dehydration (OD), hot-air drying, and packaging methods: aluminum foil-laminated plastic bags with nitrogen flushing (Al bag with nitrogen), aluminum foil-laminated plastic bags without nitrogen (the Al bag without nitrogen), and clear plastic bags. Although airbags measurably reduce the overall risk of injury to adults (including eye injury), and death from motor vehicle accidents, injuries attributed to airbag deployment have been reported.
