To solve prostatic hyperplasia in the elderly, a method of cystostomy with plasma bipolar resection was proposed. From January 2019 to March 2020, 42 patients with BPH who needed surgical treatment in the urological department were selected. Cystostomy was performed in bipolar TURP. The cystostomy group and robot group were divided into two groups. The surgical safety, surgical efficiency, complications, and nursing time between the two groups were compared. Urinary catheter dysfunction is a common emergency department presentation for patients with neurogenic bladders. INTRODUCTION: Percutaneous cystostomy techniques are usually done using disposable sets in developed countries which are not affordable in poor-resource settings. However, the percutaneous technique can be done using reusable trocar or selected big size surgical blades. This is simple, safe, and cost effective in poor-resource setting. The procedure is best done under ultrasound guidance but can also be done blindly in select cases. We present our 7-year experience in ultrasound-guided percutaneous suprapubic cystostomy.

BACKGROUND: The objective of this study was, to prospectively and retro respectively evaluate urethral catheterization (UC) versus supra-pubic cystostomy (SPC) in prevention of urinary tract infection (UTI) in patients with spinal cord injury lesion.
METHODS: A total of 125 patients with neurogenic bladder and a mean age of 30 years had UC (n=80) and SPC (n=40) at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) between January 1984 and June 2005.

BACKGROUND: Functional outflow tract obstruction (FOO) remains a challenging disease to manage in male dogs. Cystostomy tubes have been used to relieve urethral obstruction while allowing time to achieve effective medical management, avoiding the need for emergency visits and repeat urinary catheterizations.

We present a female patient with spina bifida, paraplegia, suprapubic cystostomy, and chronic constipation, who became anxious when she noticed a bluish discolouration of her urine drainage system. We report a case of postoperative urinary leakage after bilateral laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) herniorrhaphy.
