Three-Dimensional Pillared [W10O32]-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks for Enhanced Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction.

Photocatalytic reduction technology offers a promising pathway for the sustainable transformation of carbon dioxide into value-added chemicals. In this study, two isostructural three-dimensional pillared [W10O32]4--based metal-organic frameworks (POMOFs), [M2(4,4'-bipy)6(DMA)2W10O32] (M = Co 1, Ni 2), have been synthesized under solvothermal conditions. Structural characterization verifies their effective light absorption and photogenerated charge separation capability. As photocatalysts for CO2 reduction, compound 1 achieves an effective gaseous product (CO + H2) yield of 3149.4 μmol g-1 h-1,

Acute outcomes of three-dimensional mapping for fluoroscopy reduction in paediatric catheter ablation for supraventricular tachycardia.

BACKGROUND: Catheter ablation is a safe and effective therapy for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia in children. Current improvements in technology have allowed progressive reduction in radiation exposure associated with the procedure. To assess the impact of three-dimensional mapping, we compared acute procedural results collected from the Catheter Ablation with Reduction or Elimination of Fluoroscopy registry to published results from the Prospective Assessment after Pediatric Cardiac Ablation study. METHODS: Inclusion and exclusion criteria from the Prospective Assessment after

Three-dimensional analysis of jaw kinematic alterations in patients with chronic TMD - disc displacement with reduction.

The study investigated whether chronic TMD patients with disc displacement with reduction (DDR), performing non-assisted maximum jaw movements, presented any changes in their mandibular kinematics with respect to an age-matched control group. Moreover, it was examined whether jaw kinematics and a valid clinic measure of oro-facial functional status have significant associations. Maximum mouth opening, mandible protrusion and bilateral laterotrusions were performed by 20 patients (18 women, 2 men; age, 18-34 years) and 20 healthy controls (17 women, 3 men; age, 20-31 years). The three-dimension

Predictors of a persistent dislocation after reduction of syndesmotic injuries detected with intraoperative three-dimensional imaging.

BACKGROUND: In about 25% of cases, reduction of acute unstable syndesmotic injuries and stabilization with syndesmotic screws leads to an inadequate reduction. Conventional fluoroscopy does not provide reliable information about the reduction outcome. However, use of intraoperative 3D imaging can be more accurate. The purpose of this study was to identify predictors of inadequate reduction so that the need for intra- or postoperative 3D imaging could be assessed. Our hypothesis was that complex injuries of the syndesmosis present a higher risk of malreduction than simpler ankle fractures. MET

Tuning Asymmetric Isomers in One-Dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks to Enhance Oxygen Reduction Activity.

Embedding isomers into crystalline skeletons with well-defined spatial structures represents a feasible way to improve the catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). However, most research has been focused on the design of symmetric molecules, while studying asymmetric effects based on isomeric systems remains a major challenge. In this study, we introduced isomeric thiophene to regulate the ORR of one-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and further adjusted the molecular geometry configuration through asymmetric design, obtaining isomeric COF-α with 2-substituents

Selenol-containing two-dimensional perovskite promotes visible-light-driven selective reduction of unsaturated ketones.

Semiconductors have shown growing promise for photocatalytic reactions due to their tunable band structures and efficient charge separation capabilities. Among them, metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have emerged as particularly attractive candidates owing to their intense light absorption and favorable charge transport properties; yet inefficient charge utilization often occurs in MHP-based photocatalysis due to undesired interfacial charge losses and lattice mismatches within the heterostructures. Herein, we report a two-dimensional perovskite (TMHP) photocatalyst, where selenol-functionalized

Evaluation of a Novel Educational Three-Dimensionally-Printed, Unstable, Distal Radius Fracture Model for Reduction and Splinting.

INTRODUCTION: We conducted an initial orthopaedic resident-based evaluation of a novel three-dimensionally (3D) printed model simulating a displaced, unstable distal radius fracture (DRF). We hypothesized the model would have construct validity, enhance beginner resident performance when used for teaching, and be rated as beneficial. METHODS: Thirty-three residents across all postgraduate years (PGY) from multiple institutions participated. We gathered baseline clinical DRF experience levels for each through Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education case logs. We block randomized 1

Machine learning analysis of dimensional reduction conjecture for nonequilibrium Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in three dimensions.

We investigate the recently proposed dimensional reduction conjecture in driven disordered systems using a machine learning technique. The conjecture states that a static snapshot of a disordered system driven at a constant velocity is equal to a space-time trajectory of its lower-dimensional pure counterpart. This suggests that the three-dimensional (3D) random field XY model exhibits the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition when driven out of equilibrium. To verify the conjecture directly by observing configurations of the system, we utilize the capacity of neural networks to detect su

Strain-Induced Self-Assembly at Interface of Two-Dimensional Heterostructures Boosts CO2 Reduction to Methanol by H2O.

CO2 conversion with pure H2O into CH3OH and O2 driven by solar energy can supply fuels and life-essential substances for extraterrestrial exploration. However, the effective production of CH3OH is significantly challenging. Here we report an organozinc complex/MoS2 heterostructure linked by well-defined zinc-sulfur covalent bonds derived by the structural deformation and intensive coupling of dx2 - y2(Zn)-p(S) orbitals at the interface, resulting in distinctive charge transfer behaviors and excellent redox capabilities as revealed by experimental characterizations and first-principle calculati

Multi-Dimensional Cascaded Net with Uncertain Probability Reduction for Abdominal Multi-Organ Segmentation in CT Sequences.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Deep learning abdominal multi-organ segmentation provides preoperative guidance for abdominal surgery. However, due to the large volume of 3D CT sequences, the existing methods cannot balance complete semantic features and high-resolution detail information, which leads to uncertain, rough, and inaccurate segmentation, especially in small and irregular organs. In this paper, we propose a two-stage algorithm named multi-dimensional cascaded net (MDCNet) to solve the above problems and segment multi-organs in CT images, including the spleen, kidney, gallbladder, esophag

Investigation of thoracic four-dimensional CT-based dimension reduction technique for extracting the robust radiomic features.

Robust feature selection in radiomic analysis is often implemented using the RIDER test-retest datasets. However, the CT Protocol between the facility and test-retest datasets are different. Therefore, we investigated possibility to select robust features using thoracic four-dimensional CT (4D-CT) scans that are available from patients receiving radiation therapy. In 4D-CT datasets of 14 lung cancer patients who underwent stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and 14 test-retest datasets of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), 1170 radiomic features (shape: n = 16, statistics: n = 32, texture: n

Recent Research Progress on Two-Dimensional Organic Framework Materials for Electrocatalytic Carbon Dioxide Reduction Applications.

The electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide represents a pivotal strategy for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and producing value-added chemicals. Two-dimensional organic framework materials (e.g., 2D-MOFs and 2D-COFs) have emerged as promising catalysts due to their high specific surface area, tunable structures, surface modification capabilities, and accessible active sites. This review systematically summarizes recent advances in 2D organic framework materials for CO2RR, categorizing discussions by target products: carbon monoxide, methane, formic acid, and multi-carbon compounds.

Three-dimensional analysis of condylar remodelling after reduction and fixation of mandibular condylar fractures: a retrospective study.

Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is the standard treatment for displaced mandibular condyle fractures, yet postoperative condylar remodelling remains insufficiently characterized. The aims of this study were to quantify the three-dimensional condylar remodelling postoperative by analysing immediate postoperative and 6-month computed tomography scans and to assess whether the magnitude of remodelling is associated with surgical or patient-related variables. This retrospective cohort study included 42 adults treated for isolated unilateral condylar fractures. Mandibular models were se

A First-Principles Calculation Study of the Catalytic Properties of Two-Dimensional Bismuthene Materials for Carbon Dioxide Reduction.

The electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) at room temperature into industrial chemicals and energy products offers a promising strategy to mitigate atmospheric greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, bismuthene was employed as a catalyst for CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). Through first-principles calculations, we evaluated the CO2RR catalytic activities of bismuth (Bi) on the (001) and (012) surfaces, analyzing the mechanisms underlying these activities. Surface energy calculations for monolayer and multilayer bismuthene confirmed that monolayer bismuthene is stable and suitable

Correlating π-π Stacking of Aromatic Diammoniums with Stability and Dimensional Reduction of Dion-Jacobson 2D Perovskites.

Dion-Jacobson (DJ) phase 2D perovskites with various aromatic diammonium cations, potentially possessing high stability, have been developed for optoelectronics. However, their stability does not meet initial expectations, and some of them even easily degrade into lower-dimensional structures. Underlying the stability mechanism and dimensional reduction of these DJ 2D perovskites remains elusive. Herein, we report that π-π stacking intensity between aromatic cations determines structural stability and dimensional variation of DJ 2D perovskites by investigating nine benzene diammoniums (BDAs)-d
