The Influence of Work Values on Nursing Career Intentions: A Study of Multiple Mediating Factors.

In light of the global shortage in the nursing workforce, understanding the factors associated with career intention among nursing students and registered nurses has become increasingly important for nursing education and workforce retention strategies. Grounded in the theory of planned behavior (TPB), this study developed an extended TPB model incorporating work values and supplementary workplace psychological variables to examine the psychological mechanisms associated with nursing career intention across different professional stages. A cross-sectional survey design was employed, in which n

These conditions often complicate care and are associated with an increased likelihood of illness and death. The objective of this survey was to investigate acute seizure management practices in nursing homes in the USA, identify gaps in knowledge, and guide future educational efforts, including acute seizure action plans. The survey was completed by 91 nursing home directors.

Educational Level and Length of Work Experience as Correlates of Adverse-Event Reporting and Patient-Safety Perception Among Nurses in Croatian General and County Hospitals: A National Cross-Sectional Study.

Background/Objectives: Formal level of education and length of professional experience are widely thought to shape both how often nurses report adverse events and how safe they perceive their workplace to be for patients. Large multicentre data from Central and Eastern European secondary-care systems are scarce. This study examined whether educational level and length of work experience are associated with (a) the self-reported frequency of adverse-event reporting and (b) the perceived level of patient safety in a national sample of nurses working in Croatian general and county hospitals. Eroding scholarly integrity: Confronting the misuse of generative AI in nursing education.

The integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) into higher education has introduced powerful tools to support student learning. In nursing education, platforms such as ChatGPT are increasingly used to assist with brainstorming, outlining, and improving academic writing. Although these technologies offer meaningful benefits, their misuse is now creating challenges that threaten the scholarly foundations of nursing education: the misuse of AI to fabricate citations, misattribute authorship, and bypass critical scholarly engagement. The author argues that AI-driven citation fabricatio

Measuring the impact of nurse cue-response behaviour on cancer patients' emotional cues.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the impact of nurse responses to patients' and family members' emotional cues and concerns during the chemotherapy education consultation. METHODS: 51 cancer patients and 13 nurses participated in this study. Nurse-delivered chemotherapy education sessions were audio-recorded, and patients completed the EORTC QLQ-C30 V3.0 questionnaire before the education. The audio records were transcribed and coded. RESULTS: Patients expressed their emotions more than family members, but patients' cues decreased when family were present. Patients with lower emotional

Enhancing competency in infection prevention and control: Identifying priorities for clinical nurse educational needs.

BACKGROUND: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) have become a significant concern globally, posing risks to patients and imposing social and economic burdens. Competency in infection prevention and control (IPC) practices is essential for nurses to effectively reduce the risk of transmission. However, there is a lack of research on educational needs for competency in IPC practices. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to assess and prioritize educational needs for the development of educational content focused on the IPC practices of clinical nurses. DESIGN: A descriptive cross-sectional design
