BACKGROUND: Currently, evidence-based learning systems to increase knowledge and evidence level of wound care are unavailable to wound care nurses in Denmark, which means that they need to learn about diabetic foot ulcers from experience and peer-to-peer training, or by asking experienced colleagues. Interactive evidence-based learning systems built on case-based reasoning (CBR) have the potential to increase wound care nurses' diabetic foot ulcer knowledge and evidence levels.
METHOD: A prototype of a CBR-interactive, evidence-based algorithm-operated learning system calculates a dissimilari

We conducted this study aimed to examine the impact of evidence-based nursing interventions on postoperative wound pain and complications after surgery for finger tendon injury. A total of 86 patients treated for finger tendon injuries at our hospital from January 2021 to October 2023 were selected and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The control group received conventional nursing care, while the experimental group received evidence-based nursing interventions. The study compared the postoperative wound pain intensity, incidence of complications and patient sat

Endovascular aneurysm intervention is increasingly used for aortic and peripheral aneurysmal disease, yet postoperative recovery may be delayed by access-site events, cardiopulmonary instability, symptom burden, and renal vulnerability related to iodinated contrast exposure. This single-center retrospective cohort study evaluated the association between an evidence-based nursing bundle and postoperative outcomes in adults undergoing endovascular aneurysm intervention between January 2024 and December 2025. Patients treated in 2024 received routine perioperative nursing (control, n = 68), where

Cesarean section (CS) is associated with a high risk of postoperative infection, which can compromise maternal recovery and increase the healthcare burden. Conventional nursing models often lack individualized risk assessment and proactive strategies. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based predictive nursing in reducing postoperative infection and improving recovery among women undergoing CS. A case-control study was conducted between March 2023 and June 2024, enrolling 240 women who underwent cesarean section. Participants were divided into 2 groups according to the

OBJECTIVE: This scoping review will map the scope and nature of the available evidence on the use of artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support systems (AI-CDSSs) for undergraduate nursing students.
INTRODUCTION: AI is increasingly integrated into nursing education to support students' clinical reasoning and decision-making. Yet the literature on AI-CDSSs remains fragmented and heterogeneous, with variability in technologies, educational applications, and reported outcomes, as well as concerns regarding bias and ethical implications. To date, no comprehensive synthesis has mapped

Delirium in ICU patients is a complication associated with many adverse consequences. Given the high prevalence of this complication in critically ill patients, it is essential to develop and implement an effective management protocol to prevent delirium. Given that the cause of delirium is multifactorial, non-pharmacological multicomponent interventions are promising strategies for delirium prevention. (1) Background: To identify and evaluate published systematic review on non-pharmacological nursing interventions to prevent delirium in intensive care unit patients. (2) Methods: An umbrella r

Children who die in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and their families often face sudden deterioration, limited time, invasive technology, and emotionally overwhelming decisions. Memory-making can help families preserve connection, support parenting and sibling participation, and create tangible or digital keepsakes, yet bedside teams may feel uncertain about when and how to offer these practices without adding distress. This evidence-based practice article synthesizes recent pediatric palliative care, bereavement, and critical care literature and translates it into a nurse-led bedsid

BACKGROUND: In a large randomized trial, Utrecht PROactive Frailty Intervention Trial (U-PROFIT), we evaluated the effectiveness of an integrated program on the preservation of daily functioning in older people in primary care that consisted of a frailty identification tool and a multicomponent nurse-led care program. Examination of treatment fidelity is critical to successful translation of evidence-based interventions into practice.
AIMS: To assess treatment delivery, dose and content of nursing care delivered within the nurse-led care program, and to explore if the delivery may have influe

BACKGROUND: Diaper dermatitis is one of the most common skin problems in children often caused by irritants that promote skin breakdown, such as moisture and faecal enzymes. It has been estimated that the incidence of diaper dermatitis is as high as 50% in children receiving chemotherapy. The scientific literature suggests a variety of preventative measures, but only a minority are systematically tested and supported by clinical evidence.
AIM: The purpose of this paper is to adapt and implement a skincare guideline to better prevent diaper dermatitis in the paediatric oncology population.

BACKGROUND: Burnout among ICU nurses remains a global concern due to their constant exposure to high-stress, high-stakes environments. Sustained psychological strain, ethical dilemmas, and workload intensity contribute to emotional exhaustion, reduced job satisfaction, and compromised patient outcomes. This review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) in mitigating burnout and occupational stress among ICU nurses, and to examine how the duration and structure of these interventions influence their impact.
METHODS: Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a com

PURPOSE: To create and implement a standard care bundle to reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in the bariatric surgery patient.
DESIGN: Evidence-based quality improvement project.
METHODS: A pre- and postintervention chart review identified high-risk indicators for PONV in patients with longer lengths of stay (LOS), which led to the development of targeted care bundle components.
FINDINGS: A clinically significant difference was observed in predicted PONV for Apfel scores 3 and 4 in patients receiving the full bundle compared with those receiving a partial bundle. Decreased LOS

BACKGROUND: In the United Kingdom (UK), it was documented that a problem of knowledge transfer existed within the speciality of breast-cancer care, thus depriving patients of receiving optimal care. Despite increasingly robust research evidence indicating recommendation of whole body exercise for people affected by breast cancer, commensurate changes to practice were not noted amongst breast-care nurses (BCNs).
AIM: To evaluate the effect of a targeted booklet, Exercise and Breast Cancer: A Booklet for Breast-Care Nurses, on changes in knowledge, reported practice, and attitudes of BCNs in th
