The hexane extract of Persea schiedeana Ness (PSN) was analyzed as corrosion inhibitor for the brass surface immersed in 0.5 M HCl. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and a gas chromatographic (GC) and mass spectrometric (MS) were used to identify the PSN extract's functional groups and compound constituents. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and chronic prostatitis (CP) are among the most common causes of LUTS in men. BACKGROUND: The fruit extract of Dacryodes edulis (D. edulis), the African pear or plum, a tree indigenous to the humid tropics has been used for managing wounds, skin diseases, sickle cell anaemia, dysentery and fever in some African nations. In South Eastern Nigeria, 'herbal doctors' include its marshed fruit in decoctions administered to diabetic patients. However no scientific substantiation of their claim and use exist in literature. Hence, the need to evaluate the antidiabetic and hypolipidaemic activity of hexane extracts of D. edulis fruit in alloxanised animal model.

The present study evaluated the anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of Agave sisalana Perrine in classic models of inflammation and pain. Asparagus suaveolens is a medicinal plant used in Lesotho and South Africa to treat epilepsy and gonorrhea. The title compound, C(56)H(56)Ge(4)O(2)·2CH(2)Cl(2) or Tol(8)Ge(4)O(2)·2CH(2)Cl(2) (Tol = p-CH(3)C(6)H(4)), was obtained serendipitously during the attempted synthesis of a branched oligogermane from Tol(3)GeNMe(2) and PhGeH(3). The mol-ecule contains an inversion center in the middle of the Ge(4)O(2) ring which is in a chair conformation. The Ge-Ge bond distance is 2.4418 (5) Å and the Ge-O bond distances are 1.790 (2) and 1.785 (2) Å. The torsion angles within the Ge(4)O(2) ring are -56.7 (1) and 56.1 (1)° for the Ge-Ge-O-Ge angles and -43.9 (1)° for the O-Ge-Ge-O angle.
