BACKGROUND: We aimed to determine which parameters other than the time until torsion surgery can predict orchiectomy risk in acute testicular torsion (TT).
METHODS: The medical records of acute TT who applied to five different health centres in Turkey between 2016 and 2023 were analysed retrospectively. Patients who underwent orchiectomy because blood flow cannot be detected were defined as Group I, and patients with testicles preserved and fixed were defined as Group II. The differences between the two groups and potential predictors of testicular salvage were analysed.

Hypogammaglobulinemia is the hallmark of common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) syndrome, a heterogeneous disorder predisposing patients to recurrent bacterial infections. On days 15-20 after immunization of patients suffering from endometrial tumors with tularemia live vaccine, a significant increase was registered in T-cell population of the immune system, macrophagal transformation of mononuclears and phagocyticity of blood neutrophiles which are generally reduced in stages III-IV. AIMS: Sustained-release systems reduce the incidence of drug side effects and the need for frequent drug consumption, thus increasing patient compliance with treatment. In this study, we aimed to produce sustained-release buprenorphine (BP) using lipid-liquid crystal gels.
