In 2020, we reported the "BD-checklist 92" for patients with Behçet's disease (BD) based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of this checklist. Questionnaires using the "BD-checklist 92" and the 36-item Short Form Survey (SF-36) were sent to ten affiliated institutions. In total, 174 patients answered the questionnaire (response rate, 32.7%). Criterion validity was evaluated using the correlation coefficient between the number of problem categories extracted from the "BD-checkli

OBJECTIVE: the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) Core Sets for head and neck cancer (HNC) structure the assessment of functioning and guide rehabilitation. They are an application of the ICF that was adopted by the World Health Organization. They exist in a first version as a Comprehensive Core Set (CCS) with 112 categories for multidisciplinary assessment and clinical studies and as a Brief Core Set (BCS) with 19 categories for data collection in clinical routine. The BCS is a selection of the most important categories from the CCS. The objective of this

BACKGROUND: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) offers a standardized international terminology to operationalize function management across multiple domains, but the summary score of the ICF qualifier scale provides limited information on the comparison of personal abilities and functioning difficulties.
OBJECTIVES: To enhance the interpretative power of the ICF-based Health-oriented Personal Evaluation for the community-dwelling older person (iHOPE-OP) scale through the implementation of the item response theory (IRT) modelling.

BACKGROUND: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating stroke patients across four key domains. However, due to the large number of ICF items and the complexity of its classification system, its practical application is often time-consuming, and requires substantial training for evaluators.
AIM: To generate and validate a decision tree model based on ICF items for assessing upper limb dysfunction after stroke.
DESIGN: A cross-sectional study.
SETTING: Rehabilitation department of five hospitals.

BACKGROUND: Many complex factors contribute to suicide in older adults. The suicidal ideation that precedes suicide is an especially direct predictor of suicide. This study aimed to identify the effects between variables affecting suicidal ideation among older adults using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model and understand the causal relationships to systematize complex factors.
METHODS: This study used data from 9920 community-dwelling older adults who completed a national survey in 2020 to classify predictors of suicidal ideation (e.g., depress

BACKGROUND: The prevalence of cerebral palsy (CP) in countries in Africa is suggested to be higher than in Western countries. Research in Western resource-rich contexts has demonstrated the importance of environmental factors in the activities and participation of individuals with CP, as illustrated by the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Although the domains of the ICF are often acknowledged in research on CP in western contexts, the extent to which these domains have been explored in resource-limited areas is unknown. The current review aims to descri

BACKGROUND: Severe burn injuries result in relevant restrictions of physical capacity as well as psychological and social integrity and require a specialized rehabilitation. There is a common agreement, among national as well as international burn associations, that burn rehabilitation is a complex, dynamic process which needs an interdisciplinary and specialized treatment team. There is wide agreement that more research is needed in this field.
METHODS/DESIGN: The aim of the study is to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of our new ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disa

BACKGROUND: In the primary and secondary medical health sector, patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) are widely used to assess a patient's disease-related functional health state. However, the World Health Organization (WHO), in its recently adopted resolution on "strengthening rehabilitation in all health systems", encourages that all health sectors, not only the rehabilitation sector, classify a patient's functioning and health state according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).
AIM: This research sought to optimize machine learning (ML) met
