Psychometric properties of the TSK-11: a shortened version of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia.

The Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) is one of the most frequently employed measures for assessing pain-related fear in back pain patients. Despite its widespread use, there is relatively little data to support the psychometric properties of the English version of this scale. This study investigated the psychometric properties of the English version of the TSK in a sample of chronic low back pain patients. Item analysis revealed that four items possessed low item total correlations (4, 8, 12, 16) and four items had response trends that deviated from a pattern of normal distribution (4, 9, 1

Effect of kinesiophobia on physical activity level in patients with coronary heart disease.

BACKGROUND: Physical activity (PA) is an established effective intervention to improve the prognosis of patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). However, exercise-related barriers frequently hinder PA engagement among this population, limiting its beneficial effects. Given the critical role of PA in cardiac rehabilitation and promising findings from relevant studies, the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) has been increasingly adopted to assess kinesiophobia in CVD patients. In China, however, understanding of this issue remains inadequate, with related research initiating relatively lat

Psychometric Evidence on the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia for Temporomandibular Disorders: A Scoping Review.

Temporomandibular disorders are frequently associated with orofacial pain, functional limitations, and psychosocial factors that may contribute to persistent symptoms. Kinesiophobia, or fear of movement, may influence mandibular function and rehabilitation outcomes. This scoping review aimed to map the available evidence on the psychometric properties and cross-cultural adaptations of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia for Temporomandibular Disorders (TSK-TMD) and to identify gaps in the current literature. Literature searches were conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and the Web of Science Core Collec
