Yellow fever vaccine hesitancy and its relationship with contextual, individual, or group influences and vaccine-specific issues: a scoping review.

Vaccine hesitancy is a phenomenon with the potential to reduce vaccination coverage rates, as observed with the yellow fever vaccine (YFV), leading to epidemics and the reintroduction of controlled immunopreventable diseases. This study, together with the scientific literature, aims to map the relationship among the lack of information, vaccine safety and adverse events, and vaccine hesitancy concerning YFV. A scoping review was conducted in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), National Library of Medicine (PubMed), SCOPUS, Embase, and Web of Science databases, using controlled (DeCS/MeSH) and un

Assessment of the efficacy of acupuncture and chiropractic on treating Cervical spondylosis radiculopathy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Cervical spondylosis radiculopathy (CSR) is often described as neck pain accompanied with radiating pain and neurologic symptoms, such as numbness, muscle weakness, and diminished reflexes, in 1 or both upper extremities. As people's lifestyle changes and the population ages, the incidence of CSR continues to increase. Many clinical trials have proven that acupuncture and chiropractic has a significant effect in the treatment of CSR. In this systematic review, we aim to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture and chiropractic for CSR. METHODS: We will search PubMed, C

Orbital floor fracture (blow out) and its repercussions on eye movement: a systematic review.

The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the relationship between fractures of the floor of the orbit (blow outs) and their repercussions on eye movement, based on the available scientific literature. In order to obtain more reliable results, we opted for a methodology that could answer the guiding question of this research. To this end, a systematic review of the literature was carried out, using a rigorous methodological approach. The risk of bias was assessed using version 2 of the Cochrane tool for the risk of bias in randomized trials (RoB 2). This systematic review was carrie

New-onset diabetes mellitus after pancreatectomy: A scoping review.

This scoping review investigated the incidence and risk factors of new-onset diabetes mellitus (NODM) after pancreatectomy. A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science (2014-2025) identified 14 relevant articles. Results showed NODM incidence of 25% at 1 year, 35% at 2 years, and 39% at 3 years postoperatively. Key risk factors included prediabetic conditions (n = 7), aberrant metabolic parameters (n = 6), age (n = 4), postoperative pancreatic volume (n = 4), and type of surgery (n = 3). As NODM incidence increases over time, targeted monitoring and management g

Association of Lymphovascular Space Invasion (LVSI) with Histological Tumor Grade and Myometrial Invasion in Endometrial Carcinoma: A Review Study.

Endometrial carcinoma is one of the most frequent gynecological cancers in developed countries. Lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI), histological grade, and myometrial invasion (MMI) are important prognostic factors of endometrial carcinoma. LVSI is considered an independent poor prognostic factor in endometrial carcinoma. Based on the importance of LVSI, this study aimed to discuss the association of LVSI with tumor grade and MMI. A search of PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library was carried out to collect related studies. Consequently, most studies sho

Guidance for Home Enzyme Replacement Therapy in Children and Adolescents Diagnosed with Mucopolysaccharidoses: A Scoping Review Protocol.

Enzyme replacement therapy is one of the main alternatives in the treatment of mucopolysaccharidosis. Conventionally, this therapy is administered in an outpatient setting, but this can be carried out at home, where the patient feels most comfortable. However, there is still a need for guidance on how to implement the use of this therapy in the home setting. This study aims to present the protocol of a scoping review that aims to identify and map the main existing guidance for the implementation of home-based enzyme replacement therapy in children and adolescents with mucopolysaccharidosis. Natural Products for Vulvovaginal Candidiasis Treatment: Evidence from Clinical Trials.

BACKGROUND: Candida albicans is an opportunistic yeast that causes more than 90% of all vulvovaginal infections. Because of being inherently resistant to antifungals drugs such as azole derivatives, the search for anti-Candida albicans agents with new pharmacological targets is considered as the main therapeutic strategy to prevent and treat these types of infections. In this context, products of natural origin are a promising source of compounds with antifungal activity. OBJECTIVE: The current review analyzes clinical evidence on the effectiveness of natural products in the vulvovaginal Cand

In vitro and in vivo antitrypanosomal activities of three peptide antibiotics: leucinostatin A and B, alamethicin I and tsushimycin.

In the course of our screening for antitrypanosomal compounds from soil microorganisms, as well as from the antibiotics library of the Kitasato Institute for Life Sciences, we found three peptide antibiotics, leucinostatin (A and B), alamethicin I and tsushimycin, which exhibited potent or moderate antitrypanosomal activity. We report here the in vitro and in vivo antitrypanosomal properties and cytotoxicities of leucinostatin A and B, alamethicin I and tsushimycin compared with suramin. We also discuss their possible mode of action. This is the first report of in vitro and in vivo trypanocida
