Jasmonic Acid-Induced Vacuolar Cation/Proton Exchanger 3 (CAX3) Expression Drives Tolerance to Manganese Toxicity in Mulberry (Morus alba L.).

The transport of manganese (Mn) from the cytosol into the vacuole is a crucial mechanism for metal and ion tolerance in plants. Mulberry exhibits potential to detoxify Mn via phytoremediation by activating the calcium/proton exchanger 3 (MaCAX3); however, its precise molecular mechanism remains uncharacterised. This study elucidates the molecular mechanisms by which MaCAX3 confers tolerance to Mn toxicity in mulberry, demonstrating its activation via induction by methyl jasmonate (MeJA). Our findings indicate that exposure to Mn toxicity severely impaired mulberry growth and biomass, correlati

Integrated BSA-Seq and WGCNA Analyses Reveal Candidate Genes Associated with Winter Bud Dormancy Maintenance in Fruit Mulberry (Morus spp.).

The excessively concentrated ripening period of mulberries causes seasonal surplus. Fruit mulberry (Morus spp.) exhibits the unique trait of "simultaneous flowering and leaf flushing", rendering budburst timing closely correlated with fruit ripening time. Thus, deciphering the molecular mechanism underlying winter bud dormancy maintenance in fruit mulberry is urgently needed. Herein, an F1 hybrid population comprising 337 individuals, derived from Morus wittiorum (♀) and '322' (♂), was utilized as research material. Through Bulked Segregant Analysis Sequencing (BSA-Seq), we successfully mapped

MoRu-integrated multiphase high-entropy electrocatalysts with surface reconstruction and multi-site synergy for enhanced alkaline hydrogen evolution.

FeCoNi-based catalysts for the alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) are limited by sluggish reaction kinetics and excessively strong adsorption of hydrogen intermediates (H*). In this work, Mo and Ru were incorporated into the FeCoNi matrix via freeze-drying followed by high-temperature calcination, yielding a nitrogen-doped carbon-supported MoRuFeCoNi-based multiphase high-entropy electrocatalyst (MHEE/NC). The as-prepared catalyst features a three-dimensional (3D) porous framework with uniformly distributed metal species, in which spontaneous electron transfer occurs from Fe, Co, and N

The inhibitory effect of Cannabis Sativa L. and Morus nigra L. against lipid peroxidation in goat liver and brain homogenates.

The present study was aimed to evaluate the antioxidant potential and inhibitory effect ofCannabis sativa and Morus nigra against lipid peroxidation in goat brain and liver homogenates. The formation of free radicals, highly reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS) is a normal metabolic process for cellular signaling and countering the antigens. However, they may cause serious damage if they produced at amplified tolls. In addition, metabolic disorders also serve as sources of these reactive species. Although the issue can be addressed through supplements and other phy

RNA-Seq transcriptomic analysis of the Morus alba L. leaves exposed to high-level UVB with or without dark treatment.

Ultraviolet-B (UVB) irradiation induces oxidative stress in plant cells due to the generation of excessive reactive oxygen species. Morus alba L. (M. abla) is an important medicinal plant used for the treatment of human diseases. Also, its leaves are widely used as food for silkworms. In our previous research, we found that a high level of UVB irradiation with dark incubation led to the accumulation of secondary metabolites in M. abla leaf. The aim of the present study was to describe and compare M. alba leaf transcriptomics with different treatments (control, UVB, UVB+dark). Leaf transcripts
