Mesenchymal neoplasm is rare in renal pelvic region. Aggressive angiomyxomas are the neoplasms seen predominantly in female genital region. These tumors are locally aggressive with rare cases presenting with metastasis. Its occurrence in renal pelvis is extremely rare with only five cases reported in the literature. The present case is the sixth case reported in a 15-year-old girl who presented to the surgery department as a case of horseshoe kidney. The mass was excised and a diagnosis of aggressive angiomyxoma was rendered.

Lymphangiography can be of assistance in pre-treatment staging and thereby influence management of patients with ovarian cancer. The distribution of lymph node metastases was related to the histologic type of ovarian neoplasm. Tumors of germ cell origin more frequently spread to para-aortic lymph nodes, while epithelial neoplasms of the ovary metastasized to the pelvic and para-aortic lymph nodes, apparently in continuity. In this series, lymph node metastasis from ovarian cancer was seldom associated with ascites.

Ileum was used as a ureteral replacement in 12 patients, 7 of whom had solitary kidneys. The conditions that necessitated an operation included renal pelvic and ureteral complications of calculi, a variety of traumatic ureteral injuries, retroperitoneal fibrosis and ureteral neoplasms. Renal function has been well preserved and electrolyte imbalance has been minimal.

Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common clinical presentation, but they can sometimes be the key signpost to a hidden anatomical surprise. We report the case of a 55-year-old obese woman with a decade-long history of recurrent UTIs and pelvic fullness. Examination revealed a vague pelvic mass, suspicious for a gynecological neoplasm. A case of multicentric papillary adenocarcinoma arising in the renal pelvis and proximal ureteral mucosa of a 35-year-old man is presented. The left nephrectomy specimen demonstrated multiple, fungating, papillary tumors. The largest tumor measured 10 X 9 X 6 cm and invaded the renal parenchyma. Smaller tumors with long stalks were found. Microscopically, the papillary fronds of each neoplasm were lined by a single layer of cuboidal to low columnar epithelium admixed with a few areas of invasive tubular adenocarcinoma. The adjacent pelvic mucosa was the site of cuboidal epithelial metaplasia.

Radiological and clinical experience with transcatheter intravascular occlusion of abdominal and pelvic tumors in 55 patients is presented. Major indications include control of hemorrhage, palliation of local tumor symptoms, and preoperative management of facilitate surgery. Methods of occlusion included embolization (clot, subcutaneous tissue, and Gelfoam), introduction of a stainless steel coil into larger vessels, and balloon catheters. Low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasms are rare and difficult to diagnose preoperatively because of a lack of characteristic symptoms. A 24-year-old female with no symptoms before pregnancy underwent an elective cesarean section at 38 weeks of gestation because of cephalo-pelvic disproportion. Although no abnormalities were detected in the newborn, uterus, or uterine adnexa, a sausage-like, swollen appendix was noted. The patient underwent appendectomy. Pathology showed the tumor was a low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm.

Survivors of childhood cancer have a higher risk of developing a secondary neoplasm in their lifetime. The increased risk of a second malignant neoplasm is related to treatment of the primary tumor and genetic predisposition. We describe a 19-year-old man with 2 hepatic masses, one of which was diagnosed as a hepatic angiomyolipoma and the other as focal nodular hyperplasia 14 years after the treatment of stage IV pelvic rhabdomyosarcoma. The combination of these tumors has not previously been reported in the literature.
