Phimosis has been defined as unretractable foreskin without adherences or a circular band of tight prepuce preventing full retraction. We suggested a new treatment protocol combining betamethasone with stretching exercises to reduce the number of patients requiring surgery for phimosis. Between January 2003 and September 2004, 247 boys aged 4 to 14 years (mean 7.6) were included in this consecutive, prospective, open study. OBJECTIVES: From 1997 through 1998, we conducted a prospective study to evaluate the long-term outcome of using topical steroids in the treatment of childhood phimosis.
METHODS: Both the parents and their children were instructed to apply 0.05% betamethasone cream topically twice a day for 1 month and to retract the prepuce after the fifth day of treatment. Results were evaluated at the end of the treatment and 6 months later.

Pigmented spitz nevus is a rare benign melanocytic lesion that may clinically mimic malignant melanoma, particularly when occurring at unusual sites such as the genitalia.We report a case of a child presenting with congenital phimosis associated with blackish discolouration of the foreskin. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the functional and cosmetic result of limited dorsal slit preputialplasty for surgical management of phimosis in children.
METHODS: This is a prospective cohort study (Jan 2010 to Dec 2019) of 246 children (age >5 y) who were unable to retract the foreskin and were symptomatic.
