Miniature Pulpotomy of Symptomatic Mature Permanent Teeth: A Report of Two Cases.

Human dental pulp inflammation can progress to periapical lesion formation and conventional root canal treatment (RCT) has been the traditional method for disease management. This observational study presents two cases of vital pulp therapy in mature molars diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis and associated with apical periodontitis. In these two clinical cases, the involved teeth had deep carious lesions with a history of spontaneous/lingering pain and radiographic examinations revealed the presence of apical radiolucencies. A conservative miniature pulpotomy (MP) using calcium-enriched mixt

[An 18 month evaluation of MM-MTA pulpotomy on primary decayed molars].

Pulpotomy is the most performed and controversial therapeutic in pediatric dentistry. Formocresol is known to have a toxic effect on living tissues, a mutagenic and carcinogenic potential with a systemic uptake of formocresol via pulpotomized teeth, other alternative products have been investigated. 40 molars were pulpotomized using Micro Mega Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MM-MTA), which eliminates the need for the use of formocresol. The effects of this material were evaluated both clinically and radiographically. Post-operative control examinations were performed at 1, 6, 12, and 18 months try

Pulpotomy of symptomatic permanent teeth with carious exposure using mineral trioxide aggregate.

INTRODUCTION: To evaluate the clinical and radiographic outcomes of pulpotomy treatment with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) in symptomatic mature permanent teeth with carious exposure. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Ten patients aged 27-54 years presented with 11 symptomatic permanent teeth (n=11). Each offending carious tooth was clinically and radiographically determined. We removed caries as conservatively as possible; however pulp exposure was inevitable. ProRoot MTA pulpotomy was performed on these teeth. The patients were followed-up clinically and radiographically for 24-42 months. RESULTS:

A clinical trial of pulpotomy vs. root canal therapy of mature molars.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

Root canal therapy (RCT) and tooth extraction are the main treatment options for irreversible pulpitis or its sequelae. Pulpotomy is an alternative treatment; however, more evidence is required. If outcomes of pulpotomy with a calcium-enriched mixture (PCEM) are non-inferior for mature molars with irreversible pulpitis compared with those from one-visit RCT (ORCT), this may be a beneficial treatment option. Four hundred seven individuals met the inclusion criteria and were randomly allocated [PCEM (n = 205), ORCT (n = 202)]. We used NRS questionnaires to record pain intensity. Six-month clinic

Outcomes of vital primary incisor ferric sulfate pulpotomy and root canal therapy.

PURPOSE: To compare ferric sulfate (FS) pulpotomy and primary tooth root canal therapy (RCT) in cariously exposed vital pulps of primary incisors. METHODS: A total of 133 incisors in 50 children were randomly selected to be treated by FS pulpotomy (64) or RCT (69). RESULTS: Two years after treatment, 77 incisors (41 FS pulpotomy, 36 RCT) were available for clinical and radiographic examination. There was no clinical evidence of pathosis in 78% of FS pulpotomy-treated and 100% of RCT-treated incisors. Two independent pediatric dentists evaluated periapical radiographs of the treated incisors.

Pulpotomy of primary molars with coronal or total pulpitis using formocresol technique.

The aim of this study was to evaluate whether formocresol can be used successfully in teeth with carious exposure and a vital pulp with clinical symptoms of chronic pulpitis. Further, the study concerned the influence on the success rate of the vehicle for formocresol. Pulpotomies were performed on 81 primary molars. Radiographic and other clinical symptoms were used to divide the material into a coronal chronic and a total chronic pulpitis group. Chosen by lot, zinc oxide-eugenol or Pharmatec (a plaster-like non-eugenol cement) was used as the vehicle for formocresol. After an observation per

Pulp sensibility assessment following permanent tooth pulpotomy: a scoping review of clinical studies.

Vital pulp therapy (VPT), particularly pulpotomy, has emerged as a predictable treatment option for permanent teeth with deep caries and even in the presence of symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. Although numerous clinical studies have reported favorable outcomes, considerable variation exists in the methods used to assess postoperative pulp sensibility. This scoping review aimed to systematically map the pulp sensibility assessment methods, diagnostic methods, and follow-up schedules employed in clinical studies evaluating permanent tooth pulpotomy. This scoping review was conducted according

BiodentineTM Full Pulpotomy in Mature Permanent Teeth with Irreversible Pulpitis and Apical Periodontitis.

Vital pulp therapy, including direct pulp capping and partial and full pulpotomy, is primarily indicated for immature or mature permanent teeth with reversible pulpitis. Mature permanent teeth with irreversible pulpitis are frequently treated with root canal therapy. This report presents two cases of full pulpotomy using BiodentineTM in mature permanent teeth with irreversible pulpitis and acute apical periodontitis. The periapical radiograph illustrated a deep carious lesion extended to the pulp with apical radiolucency lesion or widened periodontal ligament space. Full pulpotomy with a trica

Success of pulpotomy with MTA in primary teeth: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

The challenge of effectively managing primary teeth with irreversible pulpitis in pediatric dentistry is of interest. The clinical and radiographic success of different pulpotomy materials, including Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), in comparison to conventional materials like formocresol, ferric sulfate, calcium hydroxide, and Biodentine is reported. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the effectiveness of materials like MTA in pulpotomies for primary teeth with irreversible pulpitis. The meta-analysis revealed that MTA pulpotomies had a clinical success rate of 97.02% and a radiographi
