Comparative Evaluation of the Effect of Two Bonding Systems on the Shear Bond Strength of Orthodontic Brackets: An In Vitro Study :

BACKGROUND: Reliable bracket attachment is crucial for successful orthodontic treatment. Traditional bonding techniques utilize phosphoric acid to etch enamel by creating micromechanical retention, though this method can be technique-sensitive and time-consuming. Self-etch adhesives have been introduced to streamline this process by combining etching and priming into a single step. In this study we aimed at evaluating Transbond™ XT and Absolute2 bounding properties. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of sixteen premolars extracted recently were randomly allocated into two groups, each containing

Mesoscale Mechanisms Governing the Shear Strength of Lunar Regolith: Effects of Low Confining Stress and Irregular Particle Morphology.

Understanding the mechanical behavior of lunar regolith is critical for the success of future lunar excavation and construction missions. Irregular particle morphology and low geostatic stress are recognized as key factors contributing to the high internal friction angle of this unique extraterrestrial geomaterial. However, the underlying mechanisms by which low geostatic stress enhances shear strength remain unclear, and the multiscale effects of particle morphology on shear strength evolution are not yet fully elucidated. In this study, consolidated drained triaxial compression tests were pe

Effect of different 10-Methacryloyloxydecyl Dihydrogen Phosphate concentrations on the shear bond strength between zirconia and composite resin.

BACKGROUND: Zirconia ceramics are widely used in restorative dentistry for their mechanical strength, but their lack of a glassy phase makes them resistant to conventional acid etching. While 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (10-MDP) is utilized to facilitate chemical bonding, the influence of monomer concentration on molecular coordination at the interface remains unclear. This study evaluated the effect of varying 10-MDP concentrations on shear bond strength (SBS) and investigated the underlying chemical bonding mechanisms. METHODS: Specimens were randomly divided into nine grou

Comparison of shear bond strength of different types of intracanal posts in restoring extensively damaged primary anterior teeth.

BACKGROUND: Severe caries in early childhood is a concern for both children receiving dental treatment and their parents. This dental disease progresses rapidly and quickly damages the coronal part of the tooth. When there is insufficient coronal structure to support a coronal restoration, using intracanal components following root canal treatment increases tooth resistance and helps provide retention for the coronal restoration. This study compared the shear bond strength of three types of intracanal posts (composite resin post, reverse metal post, and fiber post) in severely damaged primary
