The online monitoring of GIS equipment can be realized through detecting SF6 decomposition gasses. Metal oxide heterojunctions are widely used as gas-sensing materials. We present an optical sensor based on light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy for the detection of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). The sensor incorporates a compact multi-pass cell measuring 6 cm × 4 cm × 4 cm and utilizes a quartz tuning fork (QTF) photodetector. A 1.58 µm near-infrared distributed feedback (DFB) laser with an optical power of 30 mW serves as the excitation source. The extreme atmospheric persistence of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), coupled with its high global warming potential, necessitates effective degradation strategies. Herein, we report a reduction-precipitation platform that simultaneously achieves SF6 defluorination and in situ fluoride immobilization. Hydrated electrons ( e aq - $e_{aq}^{-}$ ) generated via photoreduction drive the cleavage of SF bonds, achieving enhanced SF6 degradation. Efficient capture of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) from dilute mixtures remains a critical challenge. Herein, we demonstrate a size-matching strategy via isoreticular pore contraction in a microporous MOF, where the pore aperture is reduced from ∼9 Å to ∼6 Å by ligand substitution.
