Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a prevalent and debilitating illness. While standard treatment with pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy may be effective, approximately 20 to 30% of patients remain symptomatic. These individuals experience depression, anxiety, and elevated rates of suicide. For treatment-resistant patients, there is a growing interest in the use of neuromodulation therapies, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and deep brain stimulation (DBS). We conducted a systematic review on the use of neuromodulation str

Apraxia can be detected when engaging in mental motor envisioning exercises. The nonverbal skills of manufacturing, representation, strategizing, arithmetic, visual sensitivity, and motor skills are all related to apraxia. Limb apraxia also negatively affects communication gestures and linguistic skills. The impairment of brain regions related to motion patterns is the primary cause of apraxia. People with apraxia may struggle to complete a variety of tasks because they are unable to focus on various movements. Apraxia can result from injury to the premotor cortex since it has a role in the le

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) has widespread use in research and clinical application. For psychiatric applications, such as depression or OCD, repetitive TMS protocols (rTMS) are an established and globally applied treatment option. While promising, rTMS is not yet as common in treating neurological diseases, except for neurorehabilitation after (motor) stroke and neuropathic pain treatment. This may soon change. New clinical studies testing the potential of rTMS in various other neurological conditions appear at a rapid pace. This can prove challenging for both practitioners and cl

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has appeared as a new non-invasive antidepressant method, which implies non-convulsive focal stimulation of the brain through a time-varying magnetic field. Research indicates, that rTMS of the prefrontal cortex has a significant antidepressant effect and is associated with minimal side effects. The method has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration in USA and a couple of other countries for the treatment of drug-resistant depressions. The present status on the issue confirms the outcome of previous research and recommends the metho

BACKGROUND: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)is a treatment for major depressive disorder that is otherwise resistant to treatment. Although world-leading research in TMS has been conducted in Australia, where it has had some availability for two decades, there is limited familiarity with the treatment in the general medical community. Availability, however, is increasing.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article is to inform general practitioners of some scientific and practical aspects of TMS treatment.
DISCUSSION: In TMS, an electromagnetic apparatus is used to generate small electric cur

UNLABELLED: This pilot feasibility study aimed to evaluate the effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) on chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment (CRCI), and we report here on the first patient.
BACKGROUND: Deleterious cognitive changes due to chemotherapy or CRCI are commonly referred to as "chemo brain". With the increasing survival of cancer patients, this poorly understood and inadequately treated condition will likewise have an increasing toll on individuals and society. Since there is no approved treatment for chemo brain, we have initiated a therapeutic trial using transcr

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive technique that has provided important information about cortical function across an array of neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson's disease, and related extrapyramidal disorders. Application of TMS techniques in neurodegenerative diseases has provided important pathophysiological insights, leading to the development of pathogenic and diagnostic biomarkers that could be used in the clinical setting and therapeutic trials. Abnormalities of TMS outcome measures heralding cortical hyp

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is unique among the current brain stimulation techniques because it is relatively non-invasive. TMS markedly differs from vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation and magnetic seizure therapy, all of which require either an implanted prosthesis or general anesthesia, or both. Since its rebirth in its modern form in 1985, TMS has already shown potential usefulness in at least three important domains-as a basic neuroscience research instrument, as a potential clinical diagnostic tool, and as a therapy for several different neuropsychiatric condition

BACKGROUND: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) have been thoroughly explored in the treatment of various psychiatric disorders and neuropsychiatric symptoms. However, whether combining rTMS and tDCS can safely and effectively treat psychiatric conditions remains unknown. In this systematic review, we seek to summarize all existing studies that have combined rTMS and tDCS to remedy psychiatric disorders and symptoms.
METHODS: We searched four databases in addition to grey literature to identify relevant studies. All abstracts

Patients with advanced Parkinson's disease (PD) often receive deep brain stimulation (DBS) treatment, in which conductive leads are surgically implanted in the brain. While DBS treats tremor and rigidity, patients often continue to suffer from speech and swallowing impairments. There is preliminary evidence that transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) of the cortex may be beneficial for these symptoms. However, the potential electromagnetic interactions of the strong magnetic fields from TMS on the conductive leads is unknown, and the combination therapy has not been approved for use. In this

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a safe and tolerable technique with significant therapeutic potential for neurological disorders, extensively studied in recent decades. Epilepsy has been a major focus of this research, particularly low-frequency rTMS. Recent reports, clinical trials, and reviews have presented conflicting evidence on its efficacy and side effects. This review, examining studies published from January 1999 to January 2026, specifically evaluates the efficacy and side effects of rTMS for epilepsy. This study not only compares the sample size of the reviewe

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and its modifications have emerged as promising interventions for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Although growing evidence supports the safety and clinical efficacy of rTMS, substantial heterogeneity in study designs and stimulation protocols continues to hinder the development of uniform, consensus-based guidelines.
RECENT FINDINGS: Large-scale clinical trials capable of definitively establishing the effectiveness of existing rTMS protocols are still lacking. However, available findings from smaller randomized contr
