Necrotizing enterocolitis is a severe complication of high-dose chemotherapy in patients with hematopoietic malignancies. Some patients with severe mucositis may develop necrosis of the intestine, leading to typhlitis and perforation of the intestinal tract. Malignant catarrhal fever was transmitted from affected to recipient red deer (Cervus elaphus) using blood or lymphoid suspension as inoculum. Incubation periods ranged from 11 to 26 days. The disease was also transmitted using lymphoid suspension stored overnight at 4 degrees C or at -70 degrees C for 8 months. Multimodality therapies that include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and various newer forms of targeted therapies have been commonly applied in childhood cancers. 38 patients with inflammatory tumours of the large bowel (ITLB) were studied, it is 2.4% of all patients operated in our department for the large bowel tumours. 28 patients (73.7%) underwent elective surgery, 10 (26.3%) had emergency operations. Otitis interna was diagnosed in five 9-to-21-day-old turkey poults with clinical signs of paralysis, opisthotonus, torticollis, blindness, and increased mortality. OBJECTIVE: To describe the imaging findings of abdominal complications caused by chemotherapy in pediatric cancer patients.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Radiology studies of 243 patients treated in our Children Cancer Center were reviewed, 164 of whom had abdominal studies. Medical records of 54 patients with abnormal imaging findings were studied.

Results of diagnosis and surgical treatment of 852 patients, suffering an acute appendicitis (AA) with atypical course, were analyzed. Retrocecal localization of appendix was noted in 61.2% of observations, a pelvic one — in 24.3%, medial — in 11.2%, and subhepatic — in 3.4%. An adult American Quarter Horse gelding with a history of weight loss presented with an acute onset of colic, fever, soft faeces and elevated liver enzymes. Crohn's disease may involve any part of the alimentary tract, including the stomach and duodenum. We report herein the case of a 22 year-old male in whom Crohn disease was diagnosed due to weight loss in relation with a stenosis of the first and second parts of the duodenum. A gastrojejunostomy was performed with a good subsequent result. The initial management of a Crohn's disease with involvement of the duodenum is medical. When there is an indication for surgery, a gastroenterostomy is preferred, albeit with a high incidence of outlet obstruction and marginal ulceration.

Liver lobe torsion has been reported in many species, with frequent reports in rabbits. Here we describe caudate liver lobe torsion and concurrent necrohemorrhagic typhlocolitis in a Patagonian mara (syn: Patagonian cavy, Patagonian hare, Dolichotis patagonum). Equine pulmonary aspergillosis is a rare deep mycosis often due to the hematogenous spread of hyphae after gastrointestinal tract disease. We describe herein the main clinic-pathological findings observed in a foal, which spontaneously died after showing diarrhea and respiratory distress.
