The authors reviewed the clinical value of platelet scintigraphy by using autologous platelets labeled with indium-111-oxine to detect thrombotic activity at vascular thrombosis sites. The success of extremity perfusion and the protection from systemic side effects largely depend upon the prevention of systemic drug leakage from the extremity circulation.
