BACKGROUND: Multiple lines of evidence suggest that the onset and course of bipolar disorder is influenced by environmental light conditions. Increased suppression of melatonin by light (supersensitivity) in patients with bipolar disorder has been postulated as an endophenotype by several studies. PURPOSE: To identify the clinical features and prognostic factors of uveitis associated with ankylosing spondylitis (AS).
METHODS: This retrospective, interventional case series study reviewed the medical records of 91 AS patients with uveitis.

A 2.5-year-old domestic shorthair cat was evaluated because of dysphagia and weight loss of 4 weeks' duration. MIld blepharospasm and conjunctival hyperemia were evident in both eyes, oral mucous membranes were tacky on palpation, and salivary glands were enlarged. This report describes a patient who developed severe recurrent hypotony after uneventful phacoemulsification and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation 4 years after trabeculectomy. Hypotony was first noticed 1 month postoperatively and treated successfully with topical steroids.
