A 38 year-old woman presented with a dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancy at gestational age of 32 weeks concerning for an abdominal wall mass in one of the twins. Initial ultrasound evaluation was suspicious for an omphalocele, but the affected twin was found to have bladder exstrophy at birth. This illustrates the difficulties of accurate prenatal diagnosis of bladder exstrophy in a twin pregnancy at a late gestation.

LUMBAR syndrome is rare with a multitude of features that requires a high index of suspicion for timely diagnosis and appropriate management. We present on a newborn female whose untreated segmental infantile hemangioma lead to poor healing of her bladder exstrophy closure. The objective of this report is to describe bladder exstrophy as a urogenital anomaly in patients with LUMBAR syndrome and the importance of balancing management of infantile hemangioma and time to surgery.

Bladder exstrophy is a severe malformation characterized by the lack of the anterior sub-umbilical abdominal wall, and the front wall of the bladder. BACKGROUND: Exstrophy of the bladder is a rare congenital defect seen in 2.15 children out of every 100,000 live births, with the most severe variant, cloacal exstrophy (CE), only occurring in 1 in 200,000. Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) describes a spectrum of disease ranging from mild hip instability to frank dislocation. AIM: This study aims to determine the proportion and type of colorectal anomalies that occur in children born with classic bladder exstrophy (CBE).
METHODS: All patients in a database of 1044 patients with the bladder exstrophy-epispadias-cloacal exstrophy complex were reviewed. Those with CBE had their complete medical records reviewed. Children noted to have gastrointestinal malformations were identified, and all aspects of their history were extracted.

PURPOSE: At times children born with bladder exstrophy-epispadias complex must undergo several operations and the resultant scar tissue on the abdomen can be quite disfiguring. A pair of monozygotic male twins discordant for ectopia vesicae urinariae is described. There is no reason to think that any exogenic factors contributed to the aetiology.
