Constructing a MoS₂ QDs/CdS Core/Shell Flowerlike Nanosphere Hierarchical Heterostructure for the Enhanced Stability and Photocatalytic Activity.

MoS₂ quantum dots (QDs)/CdS core/shell nanospheres with a hierarchical heterostructure have been prepared by a simple microwave hydrothermal method. The as-prepared samples are characterized by XRD, TEM, SEM, UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) and N₂-sorption in detail. The photocatalytic activities of the samples are evaluated by water splitting into hydrogen. Results show that the as-prepared MoS₂ QDs/CdS core/shell nanospheres with a diameter of about 300 nm are composed of the shell of CdS nanorods and the core of MoS₂ QDs. For the photocatalytic reaction, the samples exhibit a high

A Hydrophobic Core Stabilizes the Residual Structure in the RRM2 Intermediate State of the ALS-linked Protein TDP-43.

Folding intermediates mediate both protein folding and the misfolding and aggregation observed in human diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and are prime targets for therapeutic interventions. In this study, we identified the core nucleus of structure for a folding intermediate in the second RNA recognition motif (RRM2) of the ALS-linked RNA-binding protein, TDP-43 (TAR DNA-binding protein-43), using a combination of experimental and computational approaches. Urea equilibrium unfolding studies revealed that the RRM2 intermediate state consists of collapsed residual seconda

Bridging hydrogen-bond-stabilized polymeric coacervate core micelles for high-efficiency drug encapsulation and delivery.

Polymeric nanoparticles represent one of the most promising classes of non-lipid-based drug delivery vehicles. However, their clinical translation remains limited by poor drug loading capacity and suboptimal delivery efficiency. We here develop one type of polymeric nanoparticles, referred to as PCCMs (Polymeric Coacervate Core Micelles), which are assembled from a sulfoxide-containing block polymer. Hydrophobic drugs can be efficiently encapsulated into PCCMs via a fast, low-energy "Mix-and-Go" approach, reducing reliance on organic solvents and simplifying the drug-loading process. Moreover,

Disulfiram-loaded mixed nanoparticles with high drug-loading and plasma stability by reducing the core crystallinity for intravenous delivery.

To develop an injectable formulation and improve the stability of disulfiram (DSF), DSF was encapsulated into mixed nanoparticles (DSF-NPs) through a high-pressure homogenization method. The Flory-Huggins interaction parameters (χFH) were calculated to predict the miscibility between DSF and the hydrophobic core, resulting in PCL5000 selected as the hydrophobic block to encapsulate the DSF, as PCL5000 had a lower χFH 3.39 and the drug loading of the nanoparticles prepared by mPEG5000-PCL5000 was relatively higher. mPEG5000-PCL5000 and PCL5000 were blended to reduce the leakage of DSF during pr
