An AI-assisted Clinical Decision Support System for Green Classification of Cystocele on Dynamic Transperineal Ultrasound.

Green classification of cystocele on dynamic transperineal ultrasound (TPUS) remains operator-dependent because it requires manual frame selection and landmark-based assessment of the Valsalva maneuver. We developed a workflow-oriented AI-assisted clinical decision support system for automated urethrovesical junction localization and dynamic Green classification and prospectively evaluated its standalone and reader-support performance. This diagnostic accuracy and reader study included 881 patients from a tertiary referral hospital, comprising a retrospective development cohort (n = 688) and a

Clinical Decision Support System for PIM in Elderly Patients: Implementation and Initial Evaluation in Ambulatory Care.

The high prevalence of PIMs in elderly is a major healthcare concern and indicates the need for medication monitoring systems. Most PIM CDSS have shown positive effects respecting PIM prescription but these results were more consistently in hospital settings compared with ambulatory care. We describe the post-implementation evaluation of a PIM CDSS for general practitioners (GP) in the ambulatory setting and explore GP interactions with the PIM alerts. The CDSS generated 3218 unique alerts and involved 2863 elderly patients. Benzodiazepines was the drug with the most alerts triggered. Only 129

Development of a Clinical Decision Support System for Living Kidney Donor Assessment Based on National Guidelines.

BACKGROUND: Live donor nephrectomy is an operation that places the donor at risk of complications without the possibility of medical benefit. Rigorous donor selection and assessment is therefore essential to ensure minimization of risk and for this reason robust national guidelines exist. Previous studies have demonstrated poor adherence to donor guidelines. METHODS: We developed a clinical decision support system (CDSS), based on national living donor guidelines, to facilitate the identification of contraindications, additional investigations, special considerations, and the decision as to n

Improving rates of herpes zoster vaccination with a clinical decision support system in a primary care practice.

RATIONALE: Herpes zoster (shingles) is a localized neurocutaneous eruption of blisters caused by reactivation of the varicella zoster virus. The cost of care for herpes zoster and its complications is estimated at $1.1 billion. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends a one-time dose of the vaccine for adults aged 60 years or older. Despite that recommendation, utilization of the vaccine is very low. One way to boost the delivery of preventive services such as vaccinations is with a computerized clinical decision support system. An explainable machine learning-based clinical decision support system for prediction of gestational diabetes mellitus.

Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM), a common pregnancy complication associated with many maternal and neonatal consequences, is increased in mothers with overweight and obesity. Interventions initiated early in pregnancy can reduce the rate of GDM in these women, however, untargeted interventions can be costly and time-consuming. We have developed an explainable machine learning-based clinical decision support system (CDSS) to identify at-risk women in need of targeted pregnancy intervention. Maternal characteristics and blood biomarkers at baseline from the PEARS study were used. After appro
