Fusarium species are reported frequently as the most common causative agents of fungal keratitis in tropical countries such as India. Sixty-five fusaria isolated from patients were subjected to multilocus DNA sequencing to characterize the spectrum of the species associated with keratitis infections in India. Sertaconazole is a useful antifungal agent against mycoses of the skin and mucosa, such as cutaneous, genital and oral candidiasis and tinea pedis. Reports about a good effectiveness of systemic therapy of papular rosacea with metronidazole stimulated us to investigate the value of a local treatment 1) with metronidazole mixed in Ungt. emulsific. aquosum, 2) some other available imidazole-derivative-cremes, 3) a new agent bifonazole. The last substance had a better effectiveness than the others, but the results with all these preparations were well enough to recommend them even in lower concentrations for local treatment of papular rosacea.

Flavohaemoglobins (FlavoHbs) function as nitric oxide dioxygenases, oxidizing nitric oxide with nitrite and shuttling electrons from NAD(P)H via FAD and O2 . Here, using pulse radiolysis, we investigate intramolecular electron transfer between FAD and haem b in FlavoHbs. In a clinical study from October 1985 to July 1987, we tested the efficacy of 3 different imidazole compounds in 112 male patients suffering from pityriasis versicolor.
