A total of 1742 clinically suspected samples was examined for the incidence and distribution of dermatophytes in the Republic of Macedonia from June 2007 to Jan. 2009. 600 dermatophytes were isolated and identified. Dermatophytosis is a common fungal disease which involves the keratinized tissue. This is an attempt to observe the spectrum of dermatophytes among the clinically suspected cases of dermatophytosis attending the outpatient department of Dermatology and Venereology, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Mymensingh during the period of July 2013 to December 2014. Different solvent extracts of leaves of Achyranthes aspera, Aegle marmelos, Cleistanthus collinus, Curcuma aromatica and Strychnos nux-vomica were screened against dermatophytes viz., Trichophyton mentagrophytes, T. rubrum, Microsporum gypseum, M. canis and Epidermophyton floccossum var. nigricans. Triazole and imidazole are incorporated into the structures of many antifungal compounds. In this study a novel series of 1,2,4-triazole, imidazole, benzoimidazole, and benzotriazole derivatives was designed as inhibitors of cytochrome P450 14α-demethylase (14DM). These structures were docked into the active site of MT-CYP51, using Autodock program. Sixteen compounds with the best binding energy were synthesized. A total of 576 dermatophytes were isolated from patients with a variety of skin infections from January 1993 to May 2000. In this study, we examined dermatophyte infections in patients referred to the Department of Dermatology, EL-Houd El-Marsoud Hospital, Cairo, during March 2004 to June 2005. In the present report we reviewed a total of 2397 cases of dermatophytosis from superficial cutaneous lesions between the years 1978 and 1990. The cases included were from the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital located in the city of Monterrey, México. Of 10 057 specimens of scrapings from skin, nails and scalp examined for dermatophytes, yeasts, pityriasis versicolor and systemic mycoses between 1963 and 1973, 30.4 percent were positive for fungi. A tissue culture technique for detection of cellular hypersensitivity in an animal model of dermatomycoses is presented. It is based on specific inhibition of migration of leukocytes sensitized to dermatophytic antigens. The application and specificity of this new immunological technique were studied in guinea pigs infected with Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum vanbreuseghemii, and Epidermophyton floccosum. A 10% random sample of all bathers at a public swimming bath were examined for tinea pedis and verruca.The overall incidence of tinea pedis was 8.5% and of verruca 4.8%. The incidence of tinea pedis in 205 male adults was 21.5%, in 288 boys 6.3%, in 60 adult females 3.3%, and in 220 girls 0.9%.
