Epidural analgesia is highly recommended in cancer anorectal surgery. In addition to the fight against pain it provides some benefit in allowing early rehabilitation of patients. One of the risks of this practice is the dural tear creating a cerebrospinal fluid leak (CSF) in the epidural space (EPD). Clinical features the typical positional headache, a procession of various more or less severe symptoms: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, visual or hearing impairment or radicular pain. We report a dural of unusual cause secondary of the obstruction of tuohy catheter by vertebral cartilage.

CASE REPORT: Thoracic epidural morphine was administered to five patients who underwent radical resection and reconstructive surgery for oral malignant tumors.

This case-report of a 78-year old patient, suffering from extreme pain caused by metastatic formation and pathological bone fractures, shows, that the epidural injection of buprenorphine is a good alternative compared to other means of pain-treatment. During almost four days heart rate, blood pressure and breathing frequency, as well as the general reactions of the patient, were observed. Few side effects and little discomfort make the method advisable for patients in poor general condition.

We present a rare case of a cervicothoracic epidural spindle and round cell sarcoma in a 59-year-old man, characterized by an EWSR1 gene rearrangement. The patient experienced progressive cervical pain and lower limb weakness due to an extradural mass at the C7-T2 level. BACKGROUND: The traumatic complication of an arachnoid cyst (AC) with intracystic and subdural hematoma has been reported in many cases. However, a unilateral extradural hematoma (EDH) as a complication of AC is extremely rare. Most arachnoid cysts are unilateral and are located in the middle cranial fossa. Primary spinal epidural Burkitt lymphoma, presenting with signs of spinal cord compression, is very uncommon in childhood. Previously reported pediatric cases with isolated epidural Burkitt lymphoma had a high mortality, and survivors usually suffered serious neurologic sequelae. Nine patients presented with ataxia as the primary manifestation of epidural spinal cord compression. Eight had known cancer, the ninth an epidural abscess. Lower-extremity dysmetria, gait ataxia, or both, were the only neurologic signs in five patients. An incorrect initial diagnosis led to delay in treatment and subsequent neurologic deterioration in six patients. Failure to recognize isolated, painless ataxia as the initial manifestation of spinal cord compression and appropriately treat the disorder can result in irreversible spinal cord deterioration.

INTRODUCTION: Spinal metastases (SM) are a frequent complication of cancer and may lead to pathologic vertebral compression fractures (pVCF) and/or metastatic epidural spinal cord compression (MESCC). Based on autopsy studies, it is estimated that about one third of all cancer patients will develop SM. These data may not provide a correct estimation of the incidence in clinical practice.

Extracranial metastasis of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is rare, but has recently been reported with increasing frequency. GBM metastases typically present after a biopsy or resection of the primary tumor. An otherwise healthy 54year-old woman presented with recurring pleural effusions originally believed to be from a primary lung malignancy. The patient subsequently experienced a generalized tonic clonic seizure and a right temporal brain mass was discovered. The patient later developed weakness and radiculopathy, and an extramedullary extradural mass spreading from C7 to T6 was discovered.

Primary epidural B-cell lymphoma (PEBL) is a rare neoplasm that presents initially with involvement of the epidural space. This study aimed to characterise the clinicopathological features of PEBL through a retrospective analysis of cases diagnosed at two institutions over a 15-year period. Spinal extradural lipomatosis is rare and is usually associated with long-term steroid administration or obesity. It is most commonly thoracic in situation.
