BACKGROUND: Lymphocele formation is a frequent complication after kidney transplantation, occurring in up to 26% of recipients. It results mainly from lymphatic injury during dissection of the iliac vessels and can impair graft function by compressing the renal graft, vascular structures, or ureter. Improved intraoperative visualization of lymphatic vessels may reduce this risk. Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence technology enables real-time lymphatic mapping. This study evaluated the feasibility and clinical utility of ICG fluorescence-guided lymphography during kidney transplantation.

This report describes the technique of lymphopseudoaneurysm (LPA) detection by pressurized contrast injection into a lymphocele, followed by image-guided embolization. A 37-year-old man with pancreatic neuro-endocrine tumor, portal cavernoma, and liver metastasis underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy, right hepatectomy, lymphadenectomy, and left portal vein reconstruction. Postoperative course was complicated by refractory chylous ascites. Computed Tomography (CT) revealed a centrally located lymphocele in the abdominal cavity. Direct puncture of the lymphocele, followed by pressurized contrast in

A 58-year-old man with a history of diabetes type I and chronic coronary syndrome who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) 7 years before was admitted to a cardiology unit for unplanned cardiac catheterization because of dyspnea and chest pain at rest. Femoral access was chosen because of the previous CABG and a vascular closure device (VCD) was used at the end of the procedure. Because of femoral artery rupture during VCD implantation, surgical vascular repair was performed. About 45 days later, the patient experienced a growing inguinal swelling at the site of vascular access in

Lymphocele formation following pelvic lymphadenectomy is a well-known complication. In this article, we report a 56 years old female patient with a pelvic infected lymphocele fistulised in the sigmoid discovered in imaging 2 months after pelvic surgery. Lymphocele complications are rare and their diagnosis is based on imaging. However, lymphocele as a potential cause for fistula in the bowel as a particular new case has not been found in literature search.

INTRODUCTION: A lymphocele is defined as an atypical collection of lymphatic fluid not bordered by distinct epithelial lining, which develops in anatomic compartments. Inguinal lymphocele is a common complication of surgery in the inguinal region, with an incidence ranging from 1 to 87 %. This report summarizes the management of an inguinal lymphocele post excision of an inguinal mass.
PRESENTATION OF CASE: Herein, we present a case in which an inguinal lymphocele developed four months post excision of an inguinal mass, which was later diagnosed as lymphoma and treated with iliac chain radiat

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: With the peritoneum acting as a natural surface for lymphatic reabsorption, transperitoneal robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (tRARP) is thought to be associated with a lower incidence of symptomatic lymphoceles (SLs) compared with its extraperitoneal counterpart (eRARP) when bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection (BPLND) is performed. In this study, we aim to determine if there is a difference in SL formation and characteristics between the two approaches.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the records of patients who underwent eRARP or tRARP an

BACKGROUND: There are multiple methods for preventing lymphocele formation after kidney transplantation (KTx). However, lymphoceles still develop in up to one third of patients and the effectiveness of these different methods in preventing lymphocele is not well described. Here, we summarize the current strategies for preventing lymphocele after KTx.
METHODS: We conducted searches across several literature databases, including Medline (via PubMed), Web of Science, EMBASE, and Cochrane Central. Lymphocele formation after KTx was the outcome of interest. A random-effects model was applied to ev

OBJECTIVE AND IMPORTANCE: This case report illustrates an uncommon complication from the retroperitoneal exposure of the lumbar spine. The diagnosis and management of a retroperitoneal lymphocele is presented. The lymphocele was treated with intralesional povidone iodine (Betadine; Purdue-Frederick, Norwalk, CT), which eradicated the lesion and provided symptomatic relief to the patient.
CLINICAL PRESENTATION: A young woman developed an iatrogenic, rapidly progressive spondylolisthesis after having undergone three previous lumbar surgeries for radiculopathy at the L5-S1 level.
INTERVENTION:

OBJECTIVE: We present an unusual case of a small para-aortic lymphocele causing duodenal stenosis after lymphadenectomy and discuss its treatment.
CASE REPORT: Our case involved a 57-year-old woman with endometrial cancer who underwent surgery, including para-aortic lymphadenectomy. On postoperative day 7, projectile vomiting occurred. Computed tomography (CT) revealed a small lymphocele in the dorsal duodenum, causing duodenal stenosis. Transpercutaneous and transduodenal puncture or surgical procedures were difficult because the cyst was too small. Per endoscopic and gastrointestinal series

INTRODUCTION: Postoperative chronic lymphocele and lymphedema represent severe burdens for soft tissue sarcoma patients who are already physically handicapped after an extensive surgery and a long recovery time. Incidences are high in the upper medial thigh. We have shifted our focus to lymphedema and lymphocele risk reduction with immediate lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) after sarcoma resection.
METHODS: We performed immediate lymphatic reconstruction in 11 patients after soft tissue sarcoma resection in the upper medial thigh. The postoperative course was followed up closely, and postoperat

INTRODUCTION: Renal transplant is considered to be the most optimum treatment option for chronic kidney disease. One common post-operative complication that can compromise the graft function is lymphocele. Despite the technical advances, the incidence of lymphocele is not negligible. Here, we propose the outcomes of peritoneal window and omental interposition as a prophylactic measure to prevent lymphocele occurrence.
METHODS: This was a single-centre prospective study conducted at a tertiary care hospital, between June 2021 and June 2023. The study included patients more than 18 years of age

BACKGROUND: In robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), the peritoneal edges isolate the extended pelvic lymph node dissection bed from the peritoneal cavity. We studied the effect of peritoneal re-configuration through peritoneal flap fixation (PFF) with curling technique on lymphocele development.
METHOD: We included 2087 patients who underwent RARP between 2010 and 2022. Two hundred and thirty patients whose operation was performed using the PFF with curling technique were matched in a 1:1 ratio with non-PFF patients based on age, body mass index, initial prostate-specific antigen, and

Background: Pelvic lymphnode dissection (PLND) is an integral part of surgical treatment for localized intermediate and high-risk prostate cancer. The most common complication of PLND is lymphocele formation. In the majority of cases the development of lymphoceles is clinically asymptomatic but in case of symptomatic/infected lymphocele an active treatment is required. The aim of this article is to analyse the current evidence on the treatment of symptomatic/infected lymphocele trough robotic approach. Materials and Methods: The search was applied to PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases with

Purpose: Pelvic lymph node dissection is an important step during robotic radical prostatectomy. The collection of lymphatic fluid (lymphocele) is the most common complication with potentially severe impact; therefore, different strategies have been proposed to reduce its incidence. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review, EMBASE, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, and NIH Registry of Clinical Trials were searched for articles including the following interventions: transperitoneal vs extraperitoneal approach, any reconfiguration of the peritoneum, the use of pelvic drains, and the use of diff

Lymphocele formation after pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) in radical prostatectomy (RP) is a well-recognized but often underestimated complication. Although most lymphoceles remain asymptomatic, those that become symptomatic can be troublesome and even life-threatening if venous thromboembolism occurs. We present the case of a 68-year-old man with prostate cancer who underwent an uneventful robotic-assisted RP (RaRP) with bilateral PLND. One month later, he presented with right flank pain, leukocytosis, and acute kidney injury. Imaging revealed large lymphoceles causing right hydronephros
