Fibroepithelial polyps or hypertrophied anal papillae are essentially skin tags that project up from the dentate line and the junction between the skin and the epithelial lining of the anus. Fibroepithelial polyps are benign non-epithelial tumors arising from mesodermal tissue and are commonly found on the skin. A 24-year-old man complaining of asymptomatic gross hematuria was referred to our hospital for treatment of bilateral hydronephroses (left > right) diagnosed at a previous clinic. Radiological examinations demonstrated a filling defect at the left uretero-pelvic junction. Cytological examination of the urine was negative. With the diagnosis of suspected benign ureteral polyp, the patient underwent endoscopic-assisted partial ureterectomy and pyeloplasty through a 5 cm flank incision. Histological examination revealed that the villous tumor in the ureter was a fibroepithelial polyp.

RATIONALE: Phyllodes tumors (PTs) of the breast are rare biphasic fibroepithelial neoplasms which usually present with unilateral palpable breast lumps. Here we reported a case of borderline PTs with multifocal intraductal lesions whose primary clinical manifestation was nipple discharge.
PATIENT CONCERNS: A rare case of PT with nipple discharge in a 26-year-old young lady accepted a wide local excision on her left breast, and the pathological examination turned out to be a malignant phyllodes tumor. After a 12-month follow-up, no local or distant recurrence was observed.

Ectopic breast tissue can occur anywhere along the primitive embryonic milk line and can be the site of the same pathologic processes found in the normal breast. Phyllodes tumor is an extremely rare fibroepithelial neoplasm that occurs in ectopic breast tissue of the vulva. To date, only 8 cases of phyllodes tumor in the vulva have been reported in the literature. This paper presents two additional case of benign phyllodes tumor in the vulva. The first patient was a 43-year-old woman, presenting with a lesion on the left anterior mons pubis that had increased in size in the last three months.

Gross hematuria without pain is a classical symptom of malignancy in the urinary tract. Despite the presence of other symptoms such as a history of heavy smoking or radiologic evidence of tumor growth, it may still be caused by a benign lesion. Fibroepithelial polyps typically present as small and limited growths. Accordingly, giant fibroepithelial polyps arising from the female genital tract are extremely rare, and only a few cases have been reported. We report on a patient with a fibroepithelial polyp of the distal ureter in whom the diagnosis was made incidentally while being examined for a diverticular abscess draining into the vagina. This patient's lack of symptoms and a possible relationship with the diverticular abscess is also explored.

Ureteral fibroepithelial polyps are rare benign tumours. Sometimes an ureteric calculus may be seen, proximal to the polyp. We describe a case of fibroepithelial polyp (FEP) associated with a calculus in the distal part of the right ureter. To our knowledge this is the first ureteral FEP reported in the literature associated with a ureteral calculus distal to it. Aetiology, clinical features, diagnosis and therapy of fibroepithelial polyps are discussed in the light of the literature.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relative frequencies, types and distribution of benign oral masses in North Jordanians. The records of the Department of Pathology at Jordan University of Science & Technology were reviewed and analyzed for patients with benign oral soft tissue masses, received during an 11-year period (1991-2001). Fibroepithelial polyps represent a frequent cutaneous lesion of mesodermal origin, with a prevalence of 1.2% and are rarely located at palatine tonsils. We present a rare clinical report of a 70-year-old female patient with fibroepithelial polyp of palatine tonsil. This entity represents the eighth case of palatine tonsil fibroepithelial polyp in the English literature. She presented with a polypoid mass at the right tonsil and unspecified throat symptoms. Physicians should pay attention to such lesions because of the residual risk of malignant transformation, along with non-specific symptoms.

Fibroepithelial urethral polyp is a rare benign tumor more common in children than adult that can cause bladder outlet obstruction. We describe a 3-year-old boy who presented with intermittent acute urinary retention affected by a fibroepithelial urethral polyp managed with endoscopic transurethral resection by HOLMIUM laser; no complications neither recurrence were observed. To our knowledge this is the second pediatric case of fibroepithelial urethral polyp treated by HOLMIUM laser.
