High-activity spherical TaNbTiZr refractory high-entropy alloy (REHA) powders were successfully prepared by electrode induction melting gas atomization (EIGA) and plasma rotating electrode process (PREP) methods. Both the EIGAed and PREPed TaNbTiZr RHEA powders have a single-phase body-centered cubic (BCC) structure and low oxygen content. Compared with the EIGAed powders, the PREPed powders exhibit higher sphericity and smoother surface, but larger particle size. A method for the determination of emissions in workroom air as a result of the thermal degradation of polyester coating powders is described. The method is based on the determination of certain marker compounds only. Polyester coating powders were degraded thermally in laboratory experiments and 1,4-dicyanobenzene was chosen as the marker compound. An air sampling method and a high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the determination of the marker compound are proposed. The detection limit for a 48-I air sample was 0.4 microgram m-3.

The anti-allergic agent diphenhydramine (Dimedrol) is of poor mixability. Mixing is facilitated by the addition of 2.5--5% Aerosil 380 or of only 0.5--1% Aerosil 200 and R 972. The volume of weight of the powder mixtures is increased by adding 0.5% of any of these adjuvants, and the angle of inclination is considerably reduced by the addition of 0.5--1%. Flowable mixtures are obtained only with Aerosil 380 and R 972. Stability was best in mixtures containing 2.5--5% Aerosil 380. Such mixtures are most suited with regard to mixability and stability.
