The Effect of Speed and Rotation for Protaper File Systems on Postobturation Pain in a Single Visit and Multiple (Two) Visits in Root Canal Therapy: An In Vivo Study.

INTRODUCTION: The basic idea of a root canal treatment is to alleviate the pain and heal the infection within the infected tooth, which can be resolved in a single visit or multiple visits in root canal therapy. Therefore, in this article, an in vivo comparison of single visits and multiple visits using different rotation and speed for two Protaper universal design file systems is done on the basis of time taken and incidence of pain. MATERIALS AND METHODS: One hundred single-rooted premolars with irreversible symptomatic pulpitis were assigned to two groups of 50 patients each using the odd-

Endodontic therapy and Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw onset: a scoping review and expert opinion-based qualitative meta-synthesis.

INTRODUCTION: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) is a serious side effect of bone-modifying agents (BMAs), including bisphosphonates, denosumab, and antiangiogenic drugs. Some dental procedures are recognized as local risk factors for MRONJ. Given the lack of specific guidelines for root canal therapy in patients treated with BMA, this scoping review aimed to investigate the risk of MRONJ associated with failed root canal therapy. Subsequently, a meta-synthesis of expert opinions was performed to identify existing recommendations and pitfalls of root canal therapy in patients

Endodontic Intracanal Medicaments and Agents: The Old and the New, What Is the Evidence?

Successful endodontic treatment primarily depends on effective disinfection of the root canal system through the integrated use of irrigants, intracanal medicaments, and sealers. While traditional agents such as sodium hypochlorite, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, calcium hydroxide, and zinc oxide eugenol have long been used, limitations in antimicrobial efficacy and biocompatibility have led the development of newer intracanal agents. Recent advancements, including nanoparticle-based, herbal, and bioceramic agents, offer superior biocompatibility, antimicrobial activity, and biofilm disrupti

[Intentional replantation for the treatment of palatal radicular groove with endo-periodontal lesion in the maxillary lateral incisor: a case report].

Palatal radicular groove leads to severe endo-periodontal lesion in lateral incisors. The groove occurs on the labial and lingual root surfaces, while the localized periodontal pocket develops along the lingual groove length. The complicated root canal system, extensively destroyed bone lamella, and persistent fistula pose a challenge for root canal therapy, tooth retention, and thorough infection control inside and outside of the root canal. Combining microscopic root canal therapy with intentional replantation and nano-biomaterial application facilitates infection control, tooth retention, a

Retrospective Assessment of Healing Outcome of Endodontic Treatment for Mandibular Molars with C-shaped Root Canal.

INTRODUCTION: A thorough knowledge of the anatomic morphology of the root canal system is necessary for the long-term success of the root canal therapy. The occurrence of C-shaped root canal configuration is one such variation. Achievement of favorable prognosis after commencing root canal therapy in such teeth is one of the challenges imposed on the endodontist. Hence, we evaluated the healing occurring after endodontic therapy in patients with C-shaped root canals in mandibular molars. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present study was conducted in the Department of Conservative Dentistry of the

Exploring the Impact of Access Cavity Designs on Canal Orifice Localization and Debris Presence: A Scoping Review.

OBJECTIVES: One of the primary objectives in endodontics is to achieve thorough cleaning and disinfection of the root canal system during an endodontic procedure. This aims to reduce microbial contamination and prevent the development of endodontic lesions. To attain this goal, it is imperative to establish access to the endodontic space that allows for the complete removal of pulp tissue and the accurate identification of canal orifices while preserving the anatomical integrity of the root floor and pulp chamber as much as possible. In this scoping review, we aim to explore aspects related to
