Exploiting Natural Language Processing to Unveil Topics and Trends of Traumatic Brain Injury Research.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has evolved from a topic of relative obscurity to one of widespread scientific and lay interest. The scope and focus of TBI research have shifted, and research trends have changed in response to public and scientific interest. This study has two primary goals: first, to identify the predominant themes in TBI research; and second, to delineate "hot" and "cold" areas of interest by evaluating the current popularity or decline of these topics. Hot topics may be dwarfed in absolute numbers by other, larger TBI research areas but are rapidly gaining interest. Likewise,

Statistical process control of CBCT density gamma analysis as a clinical trigger for offline adaptive radiotherapy.

Objective.Adaptive radiotherapy aimed to account for inter- and intra-fractional anatomical changes to improve target coverage and spare normal tissues. Commercial softwares could quantify anatomical and setup differences between planning computed tomography (pCT) and image-guidance cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) using density gamma passing rate (dGPR). This study evaluated the utility of dGPR as an automated, site-specific trigger for offline adaptive workflows, using statistical process control (SPC) to define tolerance thresholds and correlating dGPR with setup errors, planning target

Optimizing a Hematology/Oncology Curriculum for Internal Medicine Residents: A Two-Institution Modified Delphi Study.

PURPOSE: Although hematology/oncology (H/O) topics are essential for clinicians, many internal medicine (IM) residents perceive inadequate H/O education. This perception may be due to the lack of a standardized H/O curriculum. To address this gap, we aimed to achieve consensus about the most important H/O topics for IM residents to learn. METHODS: In 2023, we conducted a 2-round modified Delphi study of IM generalists and H/O specialists at the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University. In round 1, participants rated the importance of H/O topics on a 5-point scale (1 = v

Acceptability of 'as needed' biologic therapy in psoriasis: insights from a multistakeholder mixed-methods study.

BACKGROUND: Biologic therapies have led to increasing numbers of patients with psoriasis who have clear or nearly clear skin. It is current practice to continue biologic therapy indefinitely in these patients, which contributes to a substantial long-term drug and healthcare burden. 'As needed' biologic therapy in psoriasis may address this; however, our understanding of patient and clinician perceptions of this strategy is limited. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this mixed-methods study was to gain insight into the perspectives of both patients and clinicians regarding the acceptability of an 'as nee

Radiation-induced skin injury (RSI) refers to a frequently occurring complication of radiation therapy. Nearly 90% of patients having received radiation therapy underwent moderate-to-severe skin reactions, severely reducing patients' quality of life and adversely affecting their disease treatment. No gold standard has been formulated for RSIs. In the present study, the mechanism of RSI and topical medications was discussed. Besides, this study can be referenced for clinicians to treat RSIs to guide subsequent clinical medicine.
