Blood and lymph node T-lymphocyte subpopulations have been studied in untreated non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) patients and healthy controls. Mononuclear cells in skin lesions were characterized using an indirect immunofluorescence test with monoclonal antibodies. Antiretroviral therapy (ART) transformed HIV from a life-threatening disease to a chronic condition. However, eliminating the virus remains an elusive therapy goal. BACKGROUND: Gaucher disease (GD) is the most common autosomal recessive lipid storage disease. In this study, the changes in TFH cells and IL-4 and IL-21 cytokines in blood samples of GD patients, carriers and healthy volunteers were investigated.
METHODS: Two pretreatment type 1 GD patients, 20 currently treated type 1 GD patients, 6 carriers, and 27 healthy volunteers were enrolled in the study. TFH cell (CD45RA-CD4+CXCR5+) number, phenotype (PD1, ICOS expression), and cytokine production (IL-21, IL-4) were assessed via flow cytometric assays.

Mycosis fungoides (MF) is, on extremely rare occasions, associated with vesiculobullous eruptions. This report describes clinical, histological and immunohistochemical findings of a case of MF with vesiculobullous lesions. Characteristic features of our case included: bullous lesions evolving rapidly in 12-24 h with severe itch on erythematous and normal-appearing skin; a positive Nikolsky sign; an intraepidermal blister; direct and indirect immunofluorescence stainings were all negative with IgG, IgA, IgM and C3, and atypical lymphocytes in the infiltrates were of helper/inducer T cell type.

Liver biopsies from 5 patients with established fascioliasis, before and after bithionol treatment were studied by immunoalkaline phosphatase technique for relative distribution of T cells and their subpopulations. T cell and its subsets are defined for OKT3+ (pan T), OKT4+ (helper/inducer) and OKT8+ (suppressor/cytotoxic) cells by using mouse monoclonal antibodies. Before bithionol treatment, lymphocytic infiltration in all hepatic lesions were predominantly of OKT3+ (pan T) lymphocytes.
