Most chemotherapy regimens in colorectal cancer treatment are 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)/leucovorin or capecitabine-based. Cardiotoxicity is a less common but potentially lethal complication of 5-FU or capecitabine treatment, and some physicians might be unfamiliar with treatment alternatives. The effects of PSK on hepatic drug-metabolizing enzymes were investigated using Sarcoma 180-bearing and non-tumor-bearing ICR mice. OBJECTIVE: Pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA) is characterized by 2-3 mm erythematous papules that became vesiculopustular with hemorrhagic necrosis.
METHOD & MATERIAL: A 45-year-old lady, a known case of parathyroid adenoma, presented with a generalized itchy skin rash starting four days after radiocontrast iodide injection.
RESULT: There are some reports of provocation of PLEVA by tegafur and astemizole.
