Various 117mSn (2+ and 4+) compounds in well defined oxidation states were studied in normal mice using whole body autoradiography (WBARG), tissue distribution and scintigraphy in animal models of vitamin A induced bone disease, fracture, infected fracture and ischemic muscle lesions. The 117mSn4+-DTPA showed high affinity to normal bone with low soft tissue concentration. Increased deposition of this compound in fractures and ischemic lesions in muscle was also demonstrated. Radiolabeled microsphere techniques were used to measure renal blood flow (RBF) in rabbit kidneys with 14- to 16-day-old experimentally induced renal tumors. VX-2 carcinoma cells (25 microliters) harvested from carrier animal intramuscular tumors were injected supraselectively into an intralobar artery using fluoroscopically guided transcatheter techniques. Using a standard quantity of Re-186 HEDP, for therapy of osseous metastases from carcinoma of the breast, Palmedo and associates reported leukocyte and thrombocyte responses at 4 and 8 weeks. These were analyzed by dividing results into categories, based on the numeric initial values. Thrombocytes at 8 weeks exceeded pretreatment values in 10 of 18 cases. Detection of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) also known as luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) in the relevant tumor tissue and normal tissues and organs in vivo expression was investigated. To examine the method of direct radio labeling of LHRH by 99mTc with relatively high radiochemical purity and stability, screening the best labeling conditions, to establish a simple and reliable method of preparation of 99mTc-LHRH was undertaken. The detection of radioisotope-labeled LHRH distribution in mice, LHRH receptor imaging for the study and treatment of cancer basis were evaluated.

A protein fraction was isolated from guinea-pig liver that binds triethyltin with an affinity of approx. 2x10(6)m(-1) at pH8.0. It was shown that the protein responsible for binding 70% of the triethyltin found in guinea-pig liver after injection of radioactively labelled triethyltin is at most a few per cent of the total liver protein. Evidence is presented from the kinetics of loss of binding and loss of certain amino acids on photo-oxidation with either Methylene Blue or Rose Bengal that each binding site consists of two histidine residues.

UNLABELLED: Interpretation of radionuclide arthrograms (RNA) of the knee after total knee joint replacement (TKR) may be difficult because of the lack of sufficient anatomic reference information. Additional transmission images may provide the necessary reference information required for correct interpretation of RNA of the knee.
