OBJECTIVES: The choice of drug treatment in advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) continues to be a challenge regarding efficacy, quality of life (QoL) and toxicity. Unlike other cancer types, where integrating patient-reported outcomes (PRO) has proven to be beneficial for QoL, there is no such evidence in patients with STS as of now. OBJECTIVE: While PLD-Trabectedin is an approved treatment for relapsed platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer, its efficacy and tolerability has so far not been tested extensively in patients who progress after poly ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitor (PARPi) treatment.

Sarcoma oncologists face many uncertainties which can threaten the benefit/risk balance during early management of patients with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma. The most common site of involvement of leiomyosarcoma is the retroperitoneum, accounting for approximately 50% of all cases. The case study presented herein describes the journey of a man with a grade 2 retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma at the time of diagnosis. BACKGROUND: Solitary fibrous tumors of the pleura (SFTP) refer as to a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal malignancies with various anatomic and histology features.
