AIMS: Type D personality has been established as an independent psychological risk factor for adverse outcomes in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. However, research on the association between Type D personality and cardiovascular events in couples is limited. This study investigated the correlation between Type D personality and cardiovascular outcomes among CAD patients and their spouses.
METHODS AND RESULTS: This prospective cohort study included 4035 CAD patients for first coronary intervention therapy and their spouses, recruited from January 2017 to July 2020. Type D personality,

OBJECTIVE: In-stent neoatherosclerosis (ISNA) is involved in the pathogenesis of in-stent restenosis and major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We aimed to explore the association between Type D personality and ISNA via in vivo optical coherence tomography (OCT).
METHODS: One hundred and fifty-six patients with CAD completed the Type D Scale-14 and underwent in vivo measurement of in-stent neoatherosclerosis by OCT. The Type D construct was analyzed as both the dichotomous and the dimension constructs.

Background: Traditional cardiovascular risk models often overlook "residual risk" driven by psychopathological factors. This study investigates the exploratory prognostic baseline associations of Type D personality (TDP) and specific symptomatic dimensions with long-term all-cause mortality in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods: We conducted a retrospective case study based on hospital records evaluating 221 patients with confirmed CAD. Anatomical complexity was quantified via the SYNTAX Score (SS). Psychological profiling utilized the DS14 scale for TDP and the SCL-90 for gr

OBJECTIVES: We investigated the effect of Type D personality on the occurrence of adverse events at nine months in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with sirolimus-eluting stents (SESs) or bare stents. Type D patients experience increased negative emotions and tend not to express these emotions in social interactions.
BACKGROUND: The SES is a new advent in interventional cardiology that reduces the restenosis rate and the risk of a major adverse cardiac event, but the SES has not been shown to confer any benefits on death or myocardial i

BACKGROUND: Orthognathic surgery significantly influences psychosocial well-being. Individuals with dentofacial deformities may experience psychological distress, characterized by negative affectivity (NA) and social inhibition (SI). When these 2 traits coexist, they define Type D personality.
PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of Type D personality traits in patients with Class III dentofacial deformities and assess changes in these traits, which inherently reflect variations in Type D personality, following orthognathic surgery.
