BACKGROUND: Gynecologic neoplasms are rare in children and represent only less than 5% of all childhood tumors. Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) of the female genital tract of children accounts for only 3.5% of the cases.
CASE: A 16-year-old adolescent presented with a proliferating growth and foul smelling discharge from her vagina, which, on biopsy was diagnosed as RMS. She received chemotherapy and radiation to the primary site. She is alive in remission at 8 years, and with normal menstrual function.
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION: RMS of the vagina is a rare, but highly curable tumor in adolescent girls.

We describe a case of malignant melanoma (MM) of the vagina in a 77-year-old woman. The type was nodular, measuring 2,5 × 1,8 cm and located in close relation to the urethra. The patient underwent pelvic exenteration and received no kind of adjuvant therapy. Seven months later, the patient locally had recurrence of the disease. The vagina is a rare location of MM, and the literature in this regard is mostly based on case reports. There is a need for better registration of these patients in order to identify factors that predict prognosis and in order to determine the optimal treatment.

Although an obstetrically related trauma is the most common cause of the injuries to the female genital tract, non obstetric causes also lead to a significant number of vaginal and vulval injuries. We present 2 cases of vaginal injury, due to bull goring, one of which was associated with massive vulval haematoma. The 2 cases presented in a span of 2 months, in a rural medical college in South India. Both of them were managed surgically, following an initial haemodynamic resuscitation. They also required blood transfusions and an antibiotic prophylaxis. The postoperative period was uneventful.

Conidiobolus coronatus is a zygomycete that commonly involves the rhinomaxillary area in humans and animals. Infections are reported mostly from West Africa and South East Asia. Vaginal involvement in humans has not been described before. We report a case of C. coronatus infection involving the vagina that was successfully treated.

We report a case of an 86-year-old female with a tubulo-squamous polyp of the vagina. Grossly, the polyp measured 2 x 1.5 x 1 cm. Histologically, it was composed of well-circumscribed nests of squamous cells with bland nuclei. Some of the squamous nests showed central spaces filled with necrotic debris. OBJECTIVE: To describe the clinical case of a patient presenting complications after the implantation of a Prolene mesh as reinforcement for the correction of a recurrent cystocele.

A case of vaginal and cervical agenesis was presented. The mode of therapeutic procedure consisting of several stages was shown. Menstruation to abdominal cavity was stopped, using pharmacological agent. At the first step diagnostic laparoscopy was performed and artificial vagina was formed. A 38-year old pregnant woman presented with a polypoid tumor of the vagina. A biopsy revealed benign fibroepithelial polyps. Her pregnancy progressed normally, and she underwent an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. Once the benign nature of the lesion has been established, a spontaneous vaginal delivery is not contraindicated. However, operative vaginal delivery should be avoided to reduce the risk of trauma and hemorrhage. Local excision is curative and may be performed as an interval procedure when the vaginal vascularity has returned to normal.

The vaginal flora was investigated in women with trichomoniasis by means of a culture method. Trichomonas, yeast-like fungi and various types of bacteria were isolated. The applied microbiological technique allowed isolation not only of aerobic and cicrophilic bacteria but only of anaerobic bacteria. Anaerobic bacteria were nonspore-forming and were isolated very frequently in the vagina.
