Uterine carcinosarcoma, which is categorized as high-grade endometrial cancer, is an uncommon kind of malignant gynecological neoplasms. Clinically, this tumor frequently affects menopausal women and the main symptom is abnormally postmenopausal vaginal bleeding. Surgery continues to be the main treatment for carcinosarcoma. In this study, we wanted to discuss 2 cases of uterine carcinosarcoma in 2 women who were in menopause and who had been evaluated by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging.

The experience of The Ohio State University Gynecologic Oncology section confirms that careful consideration of urinary complaints is important in patient evaluation. This study was designed to evaluate the cytologic components in vaginal smears from women with rectovaginal fistulae and consisted of smears from 23 women. The etiology of the fistulae was complications of irradiation (14 cases), neoplasms (7 cases) and pelvic abscess or inflammation (2 cases). Thirteen cases (15 smears) contained benign colonic cells compatible with rectovaginal fistulae; 10 cases (17 smears) did not. A 56-year-old woman was referred to our hospital with a pathological diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. We performed a re-biopsy of the vaginal mass and cervical conization. The mass was originally reported as an epithelioid MPNST after re-biopsy. Strong diffuse S-100 positivity, epithelioid morphology of the lesion, and negativity to all other immune histochemical markers confirmed the diagnosis of epithelioid MPNST. Cervical conization specimen was negative for any neoplasms.

BACKGROUND: Primary cutaneous Paget's disease of the vulva is an intraepithelial adenocarcinoma most likely arising from a cutaneous stem cell with sweat gland epithelial differentiation or can be of sweat gland origin. Primary vulvar Paget's disease, however, can be mimicked by an internal noncutaneous neoplasm htat has extended to secondarily involve the vulva.
