A total of 21 patients suffering from drug-induced rashes from practolol have been seen over the past two years. The clinical manifestations varied, with the morphological appearances of the rash resembling those of eczema, lupus erythematosus, lichen planus, and a highly characteristic toxic erythematous psoriasiform eruption. Persistent ocular damage was a feature in three cases.

Two case reports are described to illustrate the unusual occurrence of dominant inheritance of Peters' anomaly and the concomitant occurrence of Peters' anomaly with colobomatous microphthalmos and dextrocardia. Studies of additional families are necessary to determine conclusively the pathogenesis, genetic mode of inheritance, ocular and systemic associated malformations, and proper management of this complex entity.

BACKGROUND: Autosomal recessive congenital ichthyoses (ARCIs) are a clinically heterogeneous group of keratinization disorders characterized by generalized skin scaling due to mutations in at least 12 genes. The aim of our study was to assess disease severity, phenotypic, and ultrastructural features and to evaluate their association with genetic findings in ARCI patients.
