[Stress analysis of the molar with the all-ceramic crown prosthesis based on centric occlusal optimization].

Stress distribution of denture is an important criterion to evaluate the reasonableness of technological parameters, and the bite force derived from the antagonist is the critical load condition for the calculation of stress distribution. In order to improve the accuracy of stress distribution as much as possible, all-ceramic crown of the mandibular first molar with centric occlusion was taken as the research object, and a bite force loading method reflecting the actual occlusal situation was adopted. Firstly, raster scanning and three dimensional reconstruction of the occlusal surface of mola

Prosthetic treatment outcome in patients with severe hypodontia: a systematic review.

Severe hypodontia (≥6 missing teeth) is associated with aesthetic and functional problems. Its presentation is heterogenic, and a variety of treatment modalities are used resulting in different treatment outcomes. As there is currently no standard treatment approach for patients with severe hypodontia, the literature was systematically reviewed with the focus on treatment outcomes. Medline, Embase and The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched (last search 24 August 2015). This was completed with a manual search of the reference lists of the selected studies. To be includ

Edentulous maxillary arch fixed implant rehabilitation using a hybrid prosthesis made of micro-ceramic-composite: case report.

The prosthetic treatment of patients with an edentulous maxilla opposing mandibular natural teeth is one of the most challenging endeavors that face clinicians. Occlusal forces from the opposing natural teeth may cause fractures in the maxillary prosthesis and also result in advanced bone loss of the edentulous maxilla. With the presence of extreme gagging reflex, the treatment may become more complicated. This article describes and illustrates the 2-stage surgical and prosthetic treatment of a patient with an edentulous maxilla opposing natural teeth. In the beginning, the patient was treated
