BACKGROUND: Peyronie's disease is a localised connective tissue disorder that involves the tunica albuginea of the penis. Although long recognised as an important clinical entity of the male genitalia, the aetiology of this disease has remained poorly understood.
METHODS: The epidemiology and clinical presentation of Peyronie's disease during a 10-year period was evaluated.

PURPOSE: Small intestinal submucosa (SIS) has been described for corporal body grafting in cases of severe penile curvature. We reviewed our experience with a 2-stage repair using corporal body grafting with SIS for proximal hypospadias and severe chordee.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective chart review was performed on 12 patients with penoscrotal hypospadias and severe chordee. Corporal grafting was performed with a 4-layer SIS graft (STRATASIS, Cook Biotech, Spencer, Indiana). INTRODUCTION: Fibrosis is characterized by dysregulation and accumulation of extracellular matrix. Peyronie's disease and Dupuytren disease are fibroproliferative disorders of the tunica albuginea of the penis and fascia of the hand, respectively. Chronic hyperglycaemia due to diabetes mellitus can also lead to tissue injury and fibrosis. A meta-analysis has shown a relationship between Dupuytren disease and diabetes (overall odds ratio, 3.1; 95% confidence interval, 2.7-3.5). This review explores commonalities in the pathogenesis of Peyronie's disease, Dupuytren disease and diabetes.

During a two-year period, 165 men were evaluated for sexual dysfunction. Most evaluations were conducted on an outpatient basis and required two separate visits. Fifty-one per cent, 47 per cent, and 2 per cent of the patients were found to have functional disorders, organic disorders, and incomplete evaluations, respectively.
