Saposhnikoviae Radix (SR) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine widely used for the treatment of "Bi syndrome". The cultivation patterns of SR have been adjusted in response to wild resource scarcity. Different cultivation patterns directly affect the appearance, chemical constituents and pharmacological efficacy of SR. However, the mechanism of SR from various patterns against rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remains unclear. This study systematically studied morphological characteristics, chemical constituents, and therapeutic efficacy against RA between wild-sourced SR (WS-SR) and simulated-wil

Phytophotodermatitis to certain plant groups is a well recognised entity. The combination of sunlight exposure and contact with plants of the umbelliferae family leads to the development of painful, erythematous, and bullous lesions and later to cutaneous hyperpigmentation. Agricultural workers and many clinicians often fail to make this link when patients present with these lesions. An incident involving 11 patients is presented to high-light this problem.

Identifying the structures of metabolites is of great importance towards elucidating the therapeutic material basis of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs). However, current studies lack sufficient reference standards, hindering the structural identification of metabolites. This study establishes a strategy guided by the retention times and mass spectrometric information of microsomal metabolites. By coupling liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to trace and isolate target compounds from the raw materials, these compounds served as reference standards to confirm the structures of mi
