Osteopathic Representation in Orthopaedic Literature: A 25-Year Analysis of Publication Trends of Former AOA Residency Programs and Osteopathic Medical Schools.

BACKGROUND: Orthopaedic surgery remains one of the most competitive specialties. Osteopathic candidates have recently matched at lower rates than allopathic students. One disparity that may exist is research, which has become a critical component of candidate applications. The aim of this study was to examine the representation of osteopathic-affiliated first authors, senior authors, and overall osteopathic-affiliated authors, in the top 25 leading US orthopaedic journals published between 2000 and 2024. METHODS: A retrospective bibliometric review was conducted on articles published from 200

A Bibliometric Analysis of Bariatric Surgery in Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: Research Trends and Influential Publications (2000-2024).

In recent decades, sedentary lifestyles and Western dietary patterns have contributed to the rise of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). While lifestyle interventions and pharmacotherapy are first-line treatments, bariatric surgery has emerged as a highly effective option, particularly for severe obesity and NAFLD-related cirrhosis. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection (SCI-EXPANDED) from 2000 to 2024. After exclusions, 1077 English articles were analyzed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace for co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence, and trend analysis.

Research trends and collaborations in single-port robotic pyeloplasty: a bibliometric analysis.

Single-port robotic pyeloplasty (SP-RP) has emerged as a minimally invasive approach for the management of ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO). However, the scientific development and research landscape of this field remain incompletely characterized. This study aimed to evaluate publication trends, leading contributors, collaborative networks, and research themes within the SP-RP literature using bibliometric methods. Data were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection. After excluding publications from 2026, non-English studies, records published in journals not indexed in the

The Evolving Field of Cardio-Rheumatology: Global Patterns and Research Gaps, 1953-2025.

Cardio-rheumatology, a rapidly evolving field at the intersection of cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases, remains intellectually fragmented despite increasing clinical and research interest driven by the rising burden of cardiovascular complications in rheumatic conditions. This was a bibliometric analysis of 3,709 articles from 1953 to March 2025, identified via Scopus databases, that assessed publication trends, citation metrics, authorship patterns, and global contributions, revealing a sharp rise in output post 2010, with the United States leading in both volume and impact. Mapping the Research Growth and Citation Impact of Scholarly Works on Sickle Cell Disease in Tanzania: A Scientometric Study.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) remains a major public health concern in Tanzania, where research efforts associated with the Muhimbili Sickle Cell (MSC) Program have contributed to increased scientific output. However, there is limited consolidated evidence on bibliometric trends and research influence in this field. This study examined publication trends, authorship patterns, institutional contributions, and citation-based research influence of SCD research in Tanzania. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using publications retrieved from Dimensions, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar fo

A Systematic Review of the Dietary Choline Impact on Cognition from a Psychobiological Approach: Insights from Animal Studies.

The influence of dietary choline availability on cognition is currently being suggested by animal and human studies which have focused mainly on the early developmental stages. The aim of this review is to systematically search through the available rodent (rats and mice) research published during the last two decades that has assessed the effect of dietary choline interventions on cognition and related attentional and emotional processes for the entire life span. The review has been conducted according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement gu

Medical Aid in Dying: A Narrative Review of the Recent Academic Literature in the United States.

Medical aid in dying (MAiD) is a practice in which a healthcare professional provides assistance to a terminally ill patient seeking to end their life. To assess how academic discourse may shape public opinion and policy in the United States, we conducted a narrative review of the literature published between 2020 and 2024. Articles were categorized as supportive, opposing, or neutral, and patterns were examined across authorship, disciplinary focus, and target populations. Our findings reveal that most recent publications adopt supportive or neutral stances toward MAiD, with a slight increase
