Surface-enhanced fluorescence for lipopolysaccharide analysis based on shell-isolated nanoparticle.

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) as the component of cell membrane on gram-negative bacteria played a central role on inflammatory inducer to stimulate a multi-system host response. Herein, a surface-enhanced fluorescent (SEF) sensor was developed for LPS analysis based on shell-isolated nanoparticles (SHINs). The fluorescent signal of CdTe quantum dots (QDs) was amplified by silica shell-coated Au nanoparticles (Au NPs). The 3D finite-difference time-domain (3D-FDTD) simulation revealed that this enhancement was due to local electric field amplification. This method has a linear detection range of 0.

Reversing Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Associated Cardiotoxicity via Bioorthogonal Metabolic Engineering-Driven Extracellular Vesicle Redirecting.

The cardiotoxicity induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) is associated with high mortality rates. T cells play an important role in ICI-induced cardiac injury. The inhibition of local T-cell activity is considered an effective strategy for alleviating ICI-related cardiotoxicity. Tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) contribute to immunosuppression via PD-L1 overexpression. In this study, a bioorthogonal metabolic engineering-driven EV redirecting (Biomeder) strategy for in situ engineered EVs with myocardial-targeting peptides is developed. Accumulated tumor-derived EV (TuEVs) re

BioMNEDR: mechanism-guided network embedding for drug repurposing.

Drug repurposing provides a cost-effective and time-efficient strategy to accelerate therapeutic discovery, yet most computational approaches fail to capture the multi-scale biomedical mechanisms underlying drug-disease associations, limiting interpretability. We introduce BioMNEDR (mechanism-guided network embedding for drug repurposing) that integrates heterogeneous biomedical networks through biologically curated meta-paths. BioMNEDR generates low-dimensional embeddings preserving protein-protein interactions and functional hierarchies. It further integrates multi-path predictions through a

Ultrasensitive SERS detection via hydrodynamic focusing coupled with electric field induced migration.

Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) offers a powerful platform for ultrasensitive molecular detection, yet its performance is often limited by inefficient analyte transport to plasmonic hotspots. In this work, we present a hybrid microfluidic-SERS detection platform that integrates hydrodynamic focusing and electric field-induced migration to overcome diffusion limitations and enhance molecular delivery to the sensing interface. The system employs a sheath-flow microfluidic device with a thermally evaporated silver nanostructured substrate, serving both as a SERS-active surface and as a

High H2 Solubility of Perfluorocarbon Solvents and Their Use in Reversible Polarization Transfer from para-Hydrogen.

This research uses perfluorocarbons (PFCs) as effective alternatives to traditional toxic solvents in reversible para-hydrogen-induced polarization (PHIP) for NMR signal enhancement. Hydrogen solubility in PFCs is shown here to be an order of magnitude higher than in typical organic solvents by determination of Henry's constants. We demonstrate how this high H2 solubility enables the PFCs to deliver substantial polarization transfer from para-hydrogen, achieving up to 2400-fold signal gains for 1H NMR detection and 67,000-fold (22% polarization) for 15N NMR detection at 9.4 T in substrates suc
