Exploring the electrical and magnetic characteristics of novel barium-doped bismuth ferrite (Bi0.9Ba0.1FeO3) nanocomposites and their applications for electrocatalytic degradation of Congo red dye.

Bismuth perovskite Bi0.9Ba0.1FeO3 nanoparticles were synthesized by a solution-combustion technique at a fuel-to-oxidizer ratio equal to unity (∅ = (F/O) = 1), where the effect of fuel type on their structural, electric, magnetic, and photocatalytic properties was discussed. Using Rietveld refinement with FullProf software, the prepared materials were characterized by XRD and SEM to examine their composition and morphology. Results revealed that the perovskite's pure phase ranged from 74% to 100%. Meanwhile, Scherrer, Williamson-Hall, and SEM investigations were used to calculate the crystalli

New insight into the eco-friendly synthesis of MgO NPs using olive pomace extract: combined experimental and DFT study for Congo red adsorption.

In this study, magnesium oxide nanoparticles (MgO NPs) were synthesized via a green method using olive pomace extract as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent. XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX, TG/DTG, and BET analyses confirmed the formation of crystalline, quasi-spherical MgO with a cubic structure and an average crystallite size of ∼13 nm. The MgO NPs were applied for the removal of Congo Red (CR) dye from aqueous solutions, achieving 91.5% removal within 30 min and over 95% under optimal conditions (pH ≈ 7, dose = 0.2 g, C 0 = 20 mg L-1, T = 298 K). Equilibrium data fitted the Dubinin-Radushkevich is

Novel Chitosan-ZnO nanocomposites derived from Nymphaeaceae fronds for highly efficient removal of Reactive Blue 19, Reactive Orange 16, and Congo Red dyes.

The primary aim of this investigation was to synthesise novel adsorbent by incorporating greenly synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles into chitosan matrix (G-ZnO-Cs). The production of ZnO Nanoparticles via a green approach involved the utilization of extracts derived from Nymphaeaceae fronds. This assertion was substantiated by the application of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analytical techniques. Several Analytical methods such as Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX), FESEM, Thermogravimetr

Synthesis of urea-formaldehyde resin@chitosan composite for the removal of Congo red from an aqueous solution via adsorption: Box-Behnken design optimization.

The removal of the toxic dye Congo red (CR) from aqueous solutions is crucial for water purification and environmental protection. In this work, a urea-formaldehyde@chitosan (UF@Ch) composite was prepared using a simple process, and its adsorption performance for CR removal was evaluated. The structural and morphological properties of the composite material were determined by XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX analysis. Adsorption kinetics fitted well to the PSO model, while the Langmuir isotherm model fitted well with the equilibrium data, confirming monolayer adsorption with a maximum capacity of 34.95

The Potential of Congo Red Supplied Aggregates of Multitargeted Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (Sorafenib, BAY-43-9006) in Enhancing Therapeutic Impact on Bladder Cancer.

Bladder cancer is a common malignancy associated with high recurrence rates and potential progression to invasive forms. Sorafenib, a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has shown promise in anti-cancer therapy, but its cytotoxicity to normal cells and aggregation in solution limits its clinical application. To address these challenges, we investigated the formation of supramolecular aggregates of sorafenib with Congo red (CR), a bis-azo dye known for its supramolecular interaction. We analyzed different mole ratios of CR-sorafenib aggregates and evaluated their effects on bladder cancer

Detection of filamentous tau inclusions by the fluorescent Congo red derivative FSB [(trans,trans)-1-fluoro-2,5-bis(3-hydroxycarbonyl-4-hydroxy)styrylbenzene].

Filamentous inclusions made of the microtubule-associated protein tau in a hyperphosphorylated state are a defining feature of a large number of human neurodegenerative diseases. Here we show that (trans,trans)-1-fluoro-2,5-bis(3-hydroxycarbonyl-4-hydroxy)styrylbenzene (FSB), a fluorescent Congo red derivative, labels tau inclusions in tissue sections from a mouse line transgenic for human P301S tau and in cases of familial frontotemporal dementia and sporadic Pick's disease. Labelling by FSB required the presence of tau filaments. More importantly, tau inclusions in the spinal cord of human P

A novel cobalt-based MOF for simultaneous removal of Pb(ii) and Congo red from real textile wastewater: synergistic adsorption behavior and mechanistic insights.

Currently, the co-removal of heavy metals and anionic dyes from industrial wastewater is quite difficult due to the stability of both pollutants and their combined co-existence. Most previous studies have focused on single-pollutant adsorption, and few reports have investigated the performance of multifunctional MOFs with an effective removal efficiency towards co-existing inorganic and organic pollutants. Herein, a newly developed azo-ligand cobalt-based metal-organic framework (Co-MOF) is developed using a solvothermal method, and its adsorption performance in the simultaneous removal of Pb(

Biofilm Detection in Bacterial Isolates From Musculoskeletal Infections: A Comparative Study of Tissue Culture Plate and Congo Red Agar Methods With Antimicrobial Susceptibility Correlation.

Background Musculoskeletal infections are a significant cause of morbidity and are frequently associated with prolonged hospital stay, increased healthcare costs, and poor functional outcomes. A major contributing factor to the persistence and recurrence of these infections is the ability of microorganisms to form biofilms. Biofilm-associated bacteria exhibit enhanced resistance to host immune responses and antimicrobial agents, making their detection clinically important. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of biofilm formation in bacterial isolates from musculoskeletal infections, co

Upcycling PET waste into Zn-MOF integrated chitosan-PEG semi-IPN foams for rapid congo red removal with high regeneration efficiency: DFT insights into adsorption mechanism.

Plastic pollution, especially from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste, presents a significant environmental threat. In this study, a sustainable approach is demonstrated by upcycling PET waste into a zinc-based metal-organic framework (Zn-TPA MOF) and integrating it into a chitosan (CS)/polyethylene glycol (PEG) semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN) to fabricate a porous composite foam via solution casting and freeze-drying. The resulting Zn-TPA@CS/PEG foam exhibits a highly porous architecture, mechanical robustness, and abundant active sites, enabling efficient dye adsorption.

Tet38 of Staphylococcus aureus Binds to Host Cell Receptor Complex CD36-Toll-Like Receptor 2 and Protects from Teichoic Acid Synthesis Inhibitors Tunicamycin and Congo Red.

Using an affinity column retention assay, we showed that the purified Tet38 membrane transporter of Staphylococcus aureus bound specifically to host cell CD36 and to the complex CD36-Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR-2), but not to TLR-2 alone or TLR-2 and S. aureus lipoteichoic acid (LTA). We tested the effect of LTA on the internalization of S. aureustet38 mutant QT7 versus RN6390 by A549 epithelial cells. Addition of anti-LTA antibody to the bacteria prior to adding to A549 cells reduced internalization of QT7 2-fold compared to that with nonspecific antibody treatment. QT7 internalized 4- to 6-fol
