A case of a 50 years-old breast cancer patient treated with weekly paclitaxel and BIBF 1120 is reported herein. In a Danish multi-practice study the efficacy of erythromycin tablets (Abboticin 500 mg tablets), fusidic acid cream (Fucidin cream), and placebo was compared in 86 patients (71 men and 15 women) with erythrasma. We report a case of infective endocarditis due to vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA). This was treated with a combination of intravenous linezolid and fusidic acid. Cure was achieved without surgical intervention.

At clinical concentrations, ciprofloxacin did not inhibit mitochondrial DNA replication, oxidative phosphorylation, protein synthesis, or mitochondrial mass (transmembrane potential). PURPOSE: To evaluate the normal conjunctival flora and to ascertain their sensitivity to antibiotics.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Prospective study was undertaken with 56 patients scheduled for cataract surgery. In each of these patients, conjunctival swab was taken from both eyes before instilling any antibiotic drops or local anesthetics and were sent for culture sensitivity by inoculating the samples in blood agar plates. The un-operated eyes served as controls for the study. The results were tabulated and analyzed by applying confidence intervals at 95% confidence limits.

In this study, methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) from SSTIs among patients in three tertiary-care hospitals in Greece were studied in terms of antimicrobial resistance, clonal distribution, toxin and adhesin genes carriage.

We describe a 46-year-old man who developed infective endocarditis, meningitis, sternal abscess, and infective cerebral emboli after cardiac transplantation.
