Dental Management of CHARGE Syndrome Under General Anaesthesia: A Case Report.

BACKGROUND: CHARGE syndrome is a rare congenital genetic disorder caused by variants in CHD7 gene. The acronym "CHARGE" represents its primary features: coloboma of the iris or retina, heart defects, choanal atresia, retardation of growth and development, genital anomalies, and ear anomalies including hearing loss. Craniofacial and oral abnormalities are a significant component of its clinical spectrum and often complicate conventional dental care, necessitating reliance on pharmacological behavior management techniques. CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 4-year-old boy with CHARGE syndrome

Oral Manifestations in a Child With Distal Renal Tubular Acidosis, and Refractory Rickets.

Renal tubular acidosis (RTA) is a group of disorders in which there is an alteration in acid-base homeostasis because of the impairment of nephrons to excrete hydrogen ions or reabsorb bicarbonate ions, resulting in chronic metabolic acidosis. RTA is an important cause of rickets, particularly 'resistant rickets'. Dental manifestations frequently reported in patients with RTA include enamel hypoplasia and amelogenesis imperfecta, affecting permanent dentition. To the best of our knowledge, the literature pertaining to the dental manifestations in RTA with secondary rickets is scarce. This case

Why Classical Dentures Are a Success in GAPO Patients?

INTRODUCTION: GAPO syndrome (#230740) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by growth retardation, alopecia, pseudoanodontia, and optic malformations, hence the acronym GAPO. The presence of both dentitions in the ridge leads to abnormally thick alveolar ridges, which are thought to hinder full denture fabrication and placement. This article aims to report the success of full dentures in two cases with GAPO syndrome with no surgical intervention, and we include observations from the follow-ups. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Patients diagnosed with GAPO syndrome and confirmed by molecul
