Immunoinformatic approach to design an efficient multi-epitope peptide vaccine against melanoma.

Melanoma is known to be the most hazardous and life-threatening type of skin cancer. Although numerous treatments have been authorized in recent years, they often result in severe side effects and may not fully cure the disease. To combat this issue, immunotherapy has emerged as a promising approach for the prevention and treatment of melanoma. Specifically, the use of epitope melanoma vaccine, a subset of immunotherapy, has recently gained attention. The aim of this study was to create a multi-epitope melanoma vaccine using immunoinformatic methods. Two well-known antigens, NYESO-1 and MAGE-C

Immunoproteomic and Immunoinformatic Approaches Identify Sensitive Antigens for Diagnosing Anisakis pegreffii Infection.

Anisakis are foodborne parasites that opportunistically parasitize humans, leading to acute abdominal symptoms and allergies. Besides gastroscopy, no other diagnostic technique is available. Consequently, it is necessary to identify specific biomarkers and then develop molecular techniques for diagnosing Anisakis infection. In the present study, we used immunoproteomic and immunoinformatic approaches to identify sensitive antigens for diagnosing Anisakis pegreffii infection. A total of three proteins, including Ani609 (VDK51609), Ani941 (VDK75941), and AniS13, were identified based on immunoin

Immunoinformatic strategy for developing multi-epitope subunit vaccine against Helicobacter pylori.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative bacterium that persistently infects the human stomach, leading to peptic ulcers, gastritis, and an increased risk of gastric cancer. The extremophilic characteristics of this bacterium make it resistant to current drug treatments, and there are no licensed vaccines available against H. pylori. Computational approaches offer a viable alternative for designing antigenic, stable, and safe vaccines to control infections caused by this pathogen. In this study, we employed an immunoinformatic strategy to design a set of candidate multi-epitope subunit vaccines

Computational designing of a novel subunit vaccine for human cytomegalovirus by employing the immunoinformatics framework.

Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a widespread virus that can cause serious and irreversible neurological damage in newborns and even death in children who do not have the access to much-needed medications. While some vaccines and drugs are found to be effective against HCMV, their extended use has given rise to dose-limiting toxicities and the development of drug-resistant mutants among patients. Despite half a century's worth of research, the lack of a licensed HCMV vaccine heightens the need to develop newer antiviral therapies and vaccine candidates with improved effectiveness and reduced si

Design of a global population-covering multi-epitope mRNA vaccine against Lassa virus using immunoinformatics.

UNLABELLED: The Lassa virus (LV) is a hemorrhagic virus that causes Lassa fever (LF). Despite its high mortality rate in Africa, no FDA-approved mRNA vaccine currently exists. Considering its epidemic potential, a new multi-epitope mRNA vaccine (LF-mVax) candidate is designed by immunoinformatics, targeting the GP, NP, and ZP through CD8+, CD4+, and B cell epitopes. LF-mVax was introduced with antigenic, non-allergic, and non-toxic epitopes that were derived from consensus sequences. The combined CD8 + and CD4 + epitopes provided 99.98% coverage of the global population, with robust immunity.

An immunoinformatics-based multi-epitope vaccine candidate confers cross-protection against two Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serovars.

Porcine contagious pleuropneumonia (PCP) is caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP) and inflicts heavy economic losses on the swine industry. However, existing inactivated vaccines provide limited cross-protection, highlighting the need for improved vaccine strategies. In this study, we combined pangenome analysis with subtractive proteomics to screen the APP core genome and identified 11 potential antigens. Seven of them showed immunoreactivity by ELISA and Western blotting. These antigens, together with the ApxI-III toxins, were used for T and B cell epitope prediction. On this basis

In silico design of a novel multi-epitope vaccine against HCV infection through immunoinformatics approaches.

Infection with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) is one of the causes of liver cancer, which is the world's sixth most prevalent and third most lethal cancer. The current treatments do not prevent reinfection; because they are expensive, their usage is limited to developed nations. Therefore, a prophylactic vaccine is essential to control this virus. Hence, in this study, an immunoinformatics method was applied to design a multi-epitope vaccine against HCV. The best B- and T-cell epitopes from conserved regions of the E2 protein of seven HCV genotypes were joined with the appropriate linkers to desi

Designing a multi-epitope vaccine candidate to combat MERS-CoV by employing an immunoinformatics approach.

Currently, no approved vaccine is available against the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), which causes severe respiratory disease. The spike glycoprotein is typically considered a suitable target for MERS-CoV vaccine candidates. A computational strategy can be used to design an antigenic vaccine against a pathogen. Therefore, we used immunoinformatics and computational approaches to design a multi-epitope vaccine that targets the spike glycoprotein of MERS-CoV. After using numerous immunoinformatics tools and applying several immune filters, a poly-epitope vaccine was co
